Never-Pop Bubbles

Object Class : Safe

Containment Procedures : SCP-5747 is to be kept in a standard anomaly containment unit. Two B class personnel will be required to open said unit.

Description : SCP-5747 is a container made of cardboard and cellophane measuring 3 ft by 1½ ft by ¼ ft. On its side the packaging is labeled “Dr. Wondertainment’s Never-Pop Bubbles, Now with New Bubble Buster” in colorful lettering. Inside of the container there are currently 24 bottles of liquid. They are grouped into pairs with one bottle of “Dr. Wondertainments Never-Pop Bubbles”, designated SCP-5747-1, and one bottle of “Dr. Wondertainments Bubble Buster”, designated SCP-5747-2. The packaging shows no anomalous properties.

The SCP was recovered from a small town in __ county, Arizona. The family had found the SCP on their front porch and figured it to be a gift from their neighbors. When the son blew a bubble using liquid from SCP-5747-1 he damaged three cars and two houses. The daughter quickly poured liquid from SCP-5747-2 on the bubble, destroying it. The foundation was alerted and the SCP was contained. Class C amnestics were used on the family.

When a bubble is blown using the liquid inside of SCP-5747-1 the bubble expands to become 6 ft in diameter enclosing anything within 6 ft of the source of the bubble. The bubble created appears to be immune to damage (See Addendum 5747-2). After 2 fl oz of the liquid in SCP-5747-2 is applied to the bubble it will pop near instantly.

Testing Procedure : One instance of SCP-5747-1 and one instance of SCP-5747-2 are to be removed from the SCP and placed within a testing chamber. A D class subject and a Security Officer will be brought into the chamber. The D class will be instructed to take SCP-5747-1 and blow a bubble using a provided bubble wand from 6 ft away from the officer. The officer will then proceed to attack the bubble with the weapon of the test. When complete if the bubble has yet to pop the officer will measure out and apply 2 fl oz of liquid from SCP-5747-2 onto the bubble. Both instances of SCP-5747-1 and SCP 5747-2 will be placed back into SCP-5747.

If SCP-5747 is being tested with another SCP the test must follow whatever procedure is required to maintain containment of the other SCP.

Addendum 5747-1 : All testing of SCP-5747 must allow the D class to carry a pressurized oxygen tank and respirator. This is due to D class personnel consistently falling unconscious during testing. Researchers determined that bubbles created using SCP-5747-1 do not allow gas to pass through them. Further testing is going into the possibility of using SCP-5747 to assist in containment of other SCPs.

Addendum 5747-2 : The following is a list of things tested against the bubbles created by SCP-5747-1.
