Special Containment Procedures:
Kept in a high orbital space station, within a specialist containment apparatus designed specifically for the needs of the object. The space station is unmanned and sealed shut. The craft is powered by SCP-4766 itself, as it perpetually and eternally emanates all forms of radiation in low intensities (including those that are publicly known and those only in the knowledge of the foundation), this radiation is then converted into what little energy is needed to run the station, acting much like a nuclear battery for a satellite.

SCP-4766 must never be allowed to come into contact with anyone or anything. Environmental containment conditions MUST remain constant, these include:

• A temperature of 5.08 Kelvin.
• Complete darkness.
• A perfect vacuum.
• Kept in permanent anti-gravity.
• Total radiation shielding.
• Absolute noise cancellation.
• Seclusion of the highest magnitude.

No personnel of any level or clearance are allowed to make contact with the sphere regardless of circumstance or necessity.

If someone or something should come into contact with SCP-4766 then, providing damage is minimal and SCP-4766 has been returned to its containment parameters, immediate termination and memory wipes are to be issued, if damage is significant then multiversal scale actions must be undertaken to combat such damage, cooperation with all available alternate universe SCP Foundations must be established and plans put into place for either a memory wipe of all known realities, the revealing of SCP-4766, the potential revealing of the SCP Foundation or in the worse case a doomsday scenario will commence.

Readings on the condition of the container, station and the item itself must be monitored 24/7 365, to ensure that no damage occurs. Once a month a visual inspection of the item is carried out using a live video feed, the observer should be a criminal that has been sentenced to death, before they lose the capacity to, the observer is required to state as to whether the item is in safe condition.

SCP-4766 “The Sphere”, is a perfectly spherical object of “indeterminate” size, no one is able to agree to its precise dimensions, bar that it is smaller than an average bowling ball but larger than a billiard ball. There are no irregularities on its surface, it is a perfect sphere in every sense. The object itself is entirely black, so much so that most initially mistake it for being two dimensional, as no depth can be perceived. A glow so faint as to be nigh imperceptible to all but the most sensitive of equipment is also found to come from the item, SCP-4766 also causes minor space-time anomalies within its immediate vicinity. This is the most accurate description of the object available, due to the effects the object has on those that witness it, even if it is just an image of the item (although the image has a lessened effect, delaying the resulting ailments by 2 seconds).

Exposure to SCP-4766 will lead to a large number of incurable ailments:

• 1 second can lead to nausea and migraines.
• 2 seconds can lead to excessive bleeding, muteness, deafness and blindness
• 3 seconds can lead to existential terror, angst, depression, suicidal tendencies, self harming, comatose, emotional regression and the reliving of traumatic events.
• 4 seconds will lead to the worst result: total mind collapse. Wherein the victims will expire, of no discernible cause, the only measurable and observable effect being that all brain activity will entirely cease instantaneously all throughout.

Note: It was found that victims brains had been entirely “filled”, no free memory was found all throughout.

No known item, person, being nor SCP is capable of preventing or repairing damage caused by SCP-4766.

SCP-4766 was found in a decaying orbit of earth by an amateurs astronomy club in Leicester, England, upon discovery it was reported to the Astronomical Society of London as a potentially unknown minor natural satellite, it was at this point the Foundation was made aware of the object (courtesy of our Astronomical Society of London informant, who, based on description alone, felt that the object was “fundamentally wrong”.).

It was noted that spectrographic analysis of the object in situ lead to the discovery that SCP-4766 contained all known, predicted and even unknown elements. It was also discovered that within 3 years of its discovery it would have entered the atmosphere and begun falling to earth.

If this had been an oddity for no other reason than its ability to drive observers mad and the fact it contains every substance existence, then this would need not have been a major problem. The problem arose when a probe was sent to sample the item: a small craft containing a hypodermic needle was sent to collect the material for testing, though upon contact with the item the entire Amos Galaxy disappeared, as luck would have it only the foundation knew of this galaxy so there was no need for any public memory wipes. However once the probe returned, its sample was found to contain only the elements present in the now missing Amos Galaxy in the precise percentages of the galaxy.

A theory was then put forward: SCP-4766 “The Sphere” was a scale representation of the entire universe, anything that happened to the sphere would happen to the universe.

As to how this was confirmed, well…
Let’s just say the Milky Way Galaxy didn’t use to be on a collision course with the Andromeda Galaxy…

Despite already being an incredibly dangerous item it wasn’t until word was heard from SCP Foundations of other dimensions about the Amos Galaxy of their realities also disappearing that was realised the true scale of SCP-4766.

SCP-4766 was not a scale representation of the universe, it was a scale representation of the multiverse, any and all damage to the item would be felt throughout all of existence.

Provided the item is left secluded and in safe conditions then no further action need be taken, however if SCP-4766 is tampered with then whomever should take it would become a being of unparalleled power. This is the reason as to why no one must be allowed near it, as the temptation is far too great.
