SCP-XXXX
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
What hand sanitizer looks like before [REDACTED]
Special Containment Procedures: Supplies of SCP-XXXX are to be stored in corrosion resistant sealed containers containing no organic substances or certain plastics.
Personnel wishing to use SCP-XXXX must have permission from a level 3 SCP agent or higher and must wear full hazmat suits made with completely synthetic materials while using SCP-XXXX. They must be monitored by a level 3 SCP agent or higher at all times while using SCP-XXXX. While using SCP-XXXX the room or area must be air tight and sealed off from surrounding rooms the surrounding area in order to prevent SCP-XXXX from escaping.
Any personnel that comes into contact with SCP-XXXX shall be treated for their injuries.
All surfaces where SCP-XXXX is applied shall be wiped down with a wool cloth for excess SCP-XXXX in case more was used than necessary.
SCP-XXXX is often used as a failsafe against the escape of other SCP's. As long as proper procedure is taken while handling SCP-XXXX and it does not come into contact with any organic matter then it is very safe and easy to handle.
Specially selected Field agents are allowed to carry small bottles (no more than 200ml) containing SCP-XXXX for removing evidence, and must carry a pair of synthetic surgical gloves. All agents allowed to carry SCP-XXXX must report if they used SCP-XXXX, how much, where and if there were any witnesses. All amounts of SCP-XXXX are to be monitored and tracked constantly and official reports made weekly.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a transparent liquid with an orange hue, it has all the exact same characteristics of Germ-X hand sanitizer. But instead of killing certain germs, it kills and destroys all organic matter it touches.
It was discovered █/██/20██ by a storage clerk at Site██ when he used a brand new bottle of hand sanitizer and it immediately ate a large hole through his hand. Containment Specialists immediately transported SCP-XXXX to Site-73 for studying.
At Site-73 researchers discovered that SCP-XXXX does not kill anyone or anything, instead it destroys an equivalent amount of matter to the amount of SCP-XXXX along with itself. The reason it destroys matter is unknown, why specifically organic matter is unknown, where the matter goes is unknown. "As far as we know, the matter could simply be deleted from the universe" Dr. ████████
It has been tested against every single type of organic matter imaginable, every time removing the matter without fail. Never destroying anything that wasn't organic. Through extensive testing it was shown that the speed of which it works is dependant on the size of the object and the amount of SCP-XXXX used. Where the more SCP-XXXX is used the faster it works, as well as working faster the larger the object tested on. Again, the reason for this is unknown. It's reaction to organic matter is not violent or explosive, it starts making it disappear as it touches it. No burning, or welting, or anything, just disappears.
After it was discovered that SCP-XXXX could be reproduced by [REDACTED]. The foundation quickly realized that SCP-XXXX could be very useful for cleaning and emergencies. The foundation used the method of [REDACTED] and created enough to send every Site and Area one liter of SCP-XXXX. But after much discussion among the 05 Council, only Sites ██, 104, and ██ received any SCP-XXXX.
A number of experiments were requested with other SCPs to test the effects of SCP-XXXX on them, including SCP████, SCP███, SCP-3042, and SCP-038. All are still waiting for approval.
Test 1, 4/15/20██
Lab Mouse
Result: drop 30g mouse into 2 liter tub of SCP-XXXX
Notes: Mouse starts dissolving instantly, completely gone after 3.24 seconds. End mass of tub 30g less than at the start.
SCP-XXXX removed the organic matter of the mouse, using 30g of SCP-XXXX to do so, no residue of any kind found from the mouse (including certain non-organic elements such as basic minerals).
Test 2, 4/18/20██
Minerals/vitamins
pour 50g of SCP-XXXX onto 50g of basic vitamins and mineral
Result: SCP-XXXX did not react to the minerals or vitamins in any way that normal hand sanitizer wouldn't.
Notes: SCP-XXXX Reacts to and removes basic vitamins and minerals just like the organic matter when inside a mouse, but does not affect them when seperated from a living organism.
Test 3, 4/24/20██
Chair
Pour 20kg of SCP-XXXX onto 20kg wooden chair with steel reinforcement inside the wood.
Result: SCP-XXXX Quickly removes all wood and cloth, leaving only a thin steel frame of the chair and 5kg of unused SCP-XXXX.
Notes: Even when non-organic substances are within organic substances, they are not removed. This contradicts experiment #1, the reason still unknown.
Test 4, 5/2/20██
Fish tank
Pour 3kg of SCP-XXXX into 80L fish tank including 5 fish, pebbles, fish food, seaweed and small plastic castle.
Results: SCP-XXXX took approximately 2 minutes to fully disperse into fish tank. Fish are completely gone as well as all seaweed and fish food. Pebbles and plastic castle noticeably cleaner.
Notes: After examination, the tank water was completely clean. After running the water through an advanced synthetic filter resulted in water containing no substances at all. Other than trace amounts of SCP-XXXX (due to imperfect filtration process) the chemical makeup of the water was 100% H2O. Even running the water through a machine that can detect down to 1 part per quadrillion, no other trace element or chemical was found. No organic matter was found on pebbles or plastic castle.
Test 5, 5/5/20██
fumes
Put SCP-XXXX into plastic spray bottle. Spray at wall above lab mouse.
Result: no detectable amount of SCP-XXXX in air, mouse uneffected.
Even when sprayed, SCP-XXXX does not produce fume at all, let alone with similar effects.
Personal Lab Notes (Dr. ███)
4/15/20██ The mouse disappeared, it was almost like a magic trick. This orange hand sanitizer might be quite useful for infestations.
4/18/20██ That's odd, there was no trace of vitamins or minerals from the mouse in experiment 1? Are non-organic substances affected while inside organic substances?
4/24/20██ That was our original prediction before experiments 1 & 2. Maybe that affect only applies to vitamins and minerals.
5/2/20██ The fish tank and water were completely clean. Even our very expensive substance analyzer couldn't find anything but water and SCP-XXXX. That means that if there is a SCP that is water bound, we could use that as a last resort.
5/5/20██ That's a relief, that means that we can use it like a spray on cleaning agent in containment units. That means that even when it is absolutely disgusting. The new 'instaclean' will remove it. Yes I know it shouldn't be used as a normal cleaning agent, but it could be very helpful in situations where you need something absolutely spotless and are willing to quarantine the entire area.
