Item #: SCP-5119
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: All space traffic has been rerouted from the orbit pattern of SCP-5119 due to the disruptive nature of its gravitational field on nearby satellites and shuttles.
A team of Foundation personnel are stationed at Area ██ on SCP-5119 and have been instructed to persuade SCP-5119 not to visit Earth. All staff stationed at Area ██ work in five-week rotation periods due to the persuasive nature of SCP-5119.
Any staff observed to attempt to sabotage Area ██ or to spread anti-Earth misinformation to SCP-5119 will result in immediate termination and depending on severity, the termination of SCP-5119 and Area ██ immediately.
Description: SCP-5119 is a sentient asteroid approximately ██ km in size. SCP-5119 is morally troubled with the fact that it greatly desires to visit Earth, but knows in doing so it would destroy Earth and all living inhabitants. It indefinitely ponders this and has done so since the arrival of life on Earth. SCP-5119 is able to communicate in perfect English, in an accent resembling Queen’s English, and regularly strikes up conversations with the Foundation personnel stationed at Area ██ about its moral quandaries.
All intrusive research has been prohibited by the O5 council due to SCP-5119’s love for humanity and Earth, all staff are expected to preserve this love, for fear of an XK scenario, and all breaches of this policy will result in immediate termination. All staff work in a five-week rotational period due to SCP-5119 being able to sway almost all assigned personnel to the belief that SCP-5119 should visit Earth and cause the XK scenario.
Addendum:
SCP-5119 Discovery Notes:
Staff onboard the International Space Station were conducting an investigation of multi-spectral wave emissions from the surrounding stellar objects, coinciding with SCP-5119’s orbit thus the personnel in the station recorded what they described as “existential mumbling”. Through a large misinformation campaign, the personnel have been persuaded that what they recorded was a mere malfunction of on-board systems.
This interview was conducted during the initial investigation by Dr Raymond Kuiper and Dr Arnold Blake
Interviewer: Dr R.Kuiper and Dr A.Blake, Area ██
Interviewed: SCP-5119
<Begin Log>
Dr Blake: Can you hear us?
SCP-5119: Yes, I have long looked at your beautiful world and wondered…
Dr Kuiper: Continue
SCP-5119: I always wondered how amazing it must be to live down there, to breathe the fresh air, to have ground to walk on and such wonderful scenery.
Dr Blake: How long have you been thinking about this?
SCP-5119: Since life arrived on your planet millions of years ago…
Dr Kuiper: And why haven’t you visited already?
SCP-5119: Because in doing so I would destroy everything down there and I cannot bear to do that.
Dr Blake: How is the decision going thus far?
Dr Kuiper: And how concerned are you about human life?
SCP-5119: I am seriously at a loss about visiting but I think that I will get a good look at the planet before everything dies which solves the problem, I care deeply about humans and still have the moral weight of that on my shoulders if I choose to visit.
(Dr Blake and Dr Kuiper exchange a knowing glance)

Closing Statement: The containment of SCP-5119 was reviewed flagging key issues that had been overlooked in the containment assignment conducted by Dr Kuiper before initial research occurred.
Addendum 5119A: Updated containment procedures
Due to recent investigation, it has been revealed that SCP-5119 has begun swaying its judgment towards visiting Earth. Due to this, a nuclear warhead has been placed on SCP-5119 without its knowledge for ease of termination. The frequency of the rotation of personnel at Area ██ SCP-5119 has increased, as the effect that SCP-5119 has on the personnel has been observed to have heightened and the monitoring of SCP-5119’s conversations has become a top priority.
Test 5119-A - 31/8/2017
Subject: SCP-5119
Procedure: Attempting to ascertain the composition of SCP-5119 through geological samples from various points on SCP-5119.
Results: The spectrometer readings of the tissue samples matched nothing known to the Foundation.
Analysis: Dr Blake confirmed that the asteroid was of non-terrestrial origin based on other debris matching the tissue sample leading far into space.
Addendum 5119-B
Due to a recently monitored conversation, the O5 council has henceforth banned all intrusive research and tests. SCP-5119 has stated that Test 5119-A hurt SCP-5119 and that it is re-thinking its opinion of humanity. After profound apologies were made by Dr Kuiper, the senior researchers of Area ██ were informed of this and Dr Kuiper and Dr Blake were given a warning.
Addendum 5119-C:
Due to their failures with SCP-5119 Dr Kuiper and Dr Blake have been reassigned to Site ██ back on Earth. New staff to replace them are being recruited have been recruited, their replacements are Dr Chambers and Dr Andrews.
