Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXX is to be kept in a dimly lit room with no reflective surfaces of any kind, along with soundproof walls. Surveillance of SCP-XXX is strictly prohibited. SCP-XXX's room is to always have armed guards at the entrance of its room with noise-cancelling headphones to assure they do not hear SCP-XXX's chime.

No personnel are to be in SCP-XXX's room during the beginning of a new hour, to avoid the possibility of accidentally hearing SCP-XXX's chime. When entering SCP-XXX's room, personnel must be accompanied by no fewer than 2 other people, all facing opposite cardinal directions. This is to prevent personnel falling under SCP-XXX's hypnotic control.

If any personnel within SCP-XXX's room is showing sudden signs of a major behavioral change such as aggressiveness or sudden drowsiness, all personnel are to leave the room immediately. If any personnel accidentally view SCP-XXX while in the room and begin to lose control of their mind to SCP-XXX, they are to have their vision redirected elsewhere and all personnel are to be removed from the room immediately. Afterwards, those affected by SCP-XXX are to be reclassified as Class-E for 48 hours for therapy and interviews with the affected person(s).

If personnel is under the effect of SCP-XXX, and unable to be released from its grasp over the personnel, the affected personnel is to be permanently terminated immediately by injecting a fatal dosage of pentobarbital.

People fully under the control of SCP-XXX are to be referred to as SCP-XXX-2.

Class-D are to be terminated after tests involving SCP-XXX.

Foundation Personnel are to remain out of SCP-XXX's room at all times unless given approval by O5-Command. All tests involving SCP-XXX must be approved by O5-Command.

Description: SCP-XXX is an antique wall clock with psychic abilities, currently it’s unknown whether or not SCP-XXX is created by man or was created by external supernatural means, as it refuses to give any information related to its origin. It is also currently unknown if it is completely identical to already existing antique wall clock models. SCP-XXX’s diameter is 35.56cm.

SCP-XXX is in fact sentient, though unable to properly communicate without taking control of a host that can speak in an understandable language.

SCP-XXX seems to possess a highly advanced form of telepathy and mind control, able to take over human minds and command them to do heinous acts of violence or other tasks that may be convenient for SCP-XXX’s survival.

Viewing SCP-XXX instantly puts the affected person(s) into a state of hypnosis, their complete focus being the hands on the clock moving, those able to report their experience with viewing SCP-XXX have reported that they lose their sense of time, explicitly stating that to them, mere seconds become hours in a blink of an eye.

People that view SCP-XXX through video surveillance, recording, or in person are unable to fight its psychic abilities. Though not obvious at first, at that point SCP-XXX already is in their mind and can take action at any time it desires.

SCP-XXX is also incredibly persuasive, people within 15 meters may subtly feel tempted into violence. Prolonged exposure to being within 15 meters will tempt nearby people to doing violent actions such as assault or murder in fierce anger, taking about 2 hours at most of exposure for a person to fall into SCP-XXX’s persuasion. The effects seem to be more severe the closer the affected person(s) is to SCP-XXX. It also seems that hearing sounds coming from SCP-XXX also make the affected person’s conditions more severe, becoming more violent and unable to control themselves.

If SCP-XXX decides to release someone, that person will have no recollection of anything that happened while they were being controlled by SCP-XXX.

Discovery: SCP-XXX was discovered by the Foundation in Milton Keynes, England on April 9th, 1978 in a single-family house at a local woods. SCP-XXX was found by Agent ██████ after local detectives were investigating a 2nd degree murder committed by the 17 year old male named ██████ ████████ that was visiting his grandfather’s home with his younger brother. Law enforcement received a 999 phone call by the distressed grandfather, reporting that his eldest grandson had gone into a frantic, mindless rage and had brutally beat and ripped apart his younger brother. Not long after the phone call started, the grandfather was discovered by the 17 year old male and then met the same torture the younger brother had endured.

Upon the Foundation discovering the crime scene, ██████ ████████ was seen sobbing uncontrollably over his brother’s corpse.

Addendum XXX.1: Custody

██████ ████████, now will be referred to as SCP-XXX-2 in this document, as of April 10th, 1978, SCP-XXX-2 has been taken into custody by the Foundation unconscious to avoid struggle, the Foundation is now waiting until SCP-XXX-2 is conscious to interview.

Addendum XXX.2: Interview

April 12th, 1978, SCP-XXX-2 became conscious. SCP-XXX-2 was escorted by two guards for an interview with Dr. Edward Franks. Originally SCP-XXX-2 showed no signs of hostility but before entering the room with Dr. Franks, SCP-XXX-2 attempted to push a guard with its shoulder so it may flee. One of the guards then knocked SCP-XXX-2 out with the stock of their gun. After resting SCP-XXX-2 on its chair, SCP-XXX-2 regained conscious in about 2 hours. During the interview SCP-XXX-2 was extremely distressed but still very cooperative. However, midway through the interview SCP-XXX-2 shouted in anger and began to choke Dr. Franks. The two armed guards present then killed SCP-XXX-2.

Interviewer: Dr. Edward Franks, Site-15

Interviewee: SCP-XXX-2

[BEGIN LOG]

Dr. Franks: Hello, my name is Dr. Edward Franks, and I am your interviewer.

SCP-XXX-2: (Frightened) What the hell? Why.. why am I here?

Dr. Franks: We will get to that. Shall we begin?

SCP-XXX-2: I-I.. I guess..

Dr. Franks: Very good, now, what is the last thing you remember before the incident occurred?

SCP-XXX-2: The incident?

Dr. Franks: Do I have to emphasize?

SCP-XXX-2: (In tears) No.. no you don't I remember.. dear God.. that all happened?..

Dr. Franks: If you mean the brutal killings of both your younger brother and grandfather, yes.

SCP-XXX-2: (Pauses) Oh my god..

Dr. Franks: I understand it's difficult to cope with the situation, but we don't have time for that. What is the last thing you remember before the incident?

SCP-XXX-2: (Blinked a few times, then appeared to be settling down) I was watching.. a clock I think.

Dr. Franks: A clock?

SCP-XXX-2 Yeah, my grandfather had recently bought it from an antique shop and asked me to get it working knowing I was good with that kind of stuff, all I did was put in the batteries and it started working.

Dr. Franks: Is that all?

SCP-XXX-2: No, after I got it working I rested it on the wall and I vaguely remember being entranced by the hands of the clock moving. I thought I was staring for just a small second but the moment I blinked, my grandfather was calling for me. I looked at the clock again, and much to my surprise I've been staring at that clock for 3 hours.

Dr. Franks: Interesting, so you lost track of time while staring at the clock's hands moving?

SCP-XXX-2: Yeah.

Dr. Franks: Very peculiar, continue.

SCP-XXX-2: As saying, my grandfather was calling me and I went to see what's up, right? He tells me my little brother is outside bored and tells me to go play with him. I didn't want to, the dude's 11 years old and I had no interest in playing with his teddybear. My grandfather persisted so I went through with it.. (SCP-XXX-2 begins to tear up again) I wish I actually got to play with him one more time, though..

Dr. Franks: Is that when you attacked your brother?

SCP-XXX-2: Yeah.. I think so, I went outside and was ready to take out my sketchbook and then.. after that, all I remember is I was above my little bro, there was blood everywhere.. all over me.. my hands.. I could barely recognized his torn up body, only reason I was able to was because he was still holding onto his teddybear.. I.. started hugging it and him..

Dr. Franks: Do you have any clue on why you tore up your brother?

SCP-XXX-2: Not a clue.

Dr. Franks: Now, when you killed your grandfather was it due to a psychotic break from the result of your brother's death? Or do you not remember that either?

SCP-XXX-2: I don't remember, all I remember was while I was crying over ████'s body I heard a phone ring inside, then my memory went blank again. I woke up and saw my grandfather in a similar state as my lil brother.. I couldn't believe what I had done, all I could do was think and walk, given I could barely think.. I didn't want to let go.. I didn't want to let go of my brother.. I went back to his body and I continued to hug him and his teddybear.. I miss him so damn much..

Dr. Frank: I see, and then shortly after the police discovered you, correct?

SCP-XXX-2: I didn't want to let go.. I don't want to let go… (Extremely angry) I don't want to let go of him!

[END LOG]

Interviewer's Note: While interviewing SCP-XXX-2, I noticed its eyes were dilated the entire interview, along with excessive sweating. Its voice also had a slight hint of an echo, a possible second voice, though not entirely noticeable unless you pay attention. The dilation of its eyes and its excessive sweating may be due to stress, though its a detail I'll pay attention to in further SCP-XXX-2 interviews.

Also, it seems that SCP-XXX-2 instances may have increased durability or more perseverance, as it took several bullets in order to kill SCP-XXX-2.
