Special Containment Procedures: Item SCP-4896 is to be kept locked in a container with a microphone at all times. If a Class D personnel is intended to enter for testing and/or feeding, there must be a written request that is submitted to Dr. █████. If accepted, the personnel may be sent into the containment chamber accompanied by 2-4 armed Class 4 operatives. The entrance to the chamber must be protected 24/7 by 2 armed Class 4 operatives.
Description: SCP-4896 has been moved to Area 12. From outside view it looks like a vintage television from the late 1990's but yet, it has 6 legs similar to an insect.
It becomes hostile when in the presence of any personnel, scrambling across the ground and leaping on top of their head. Once attached to a personnel, it slides the head into a hole of unknown origin on the bottom of the item. When the head is inside, SCP-4896 slices through the base of the skull between neck and where it connects. It seems to ingest the disembodied head leaving crushed bone and small segments of flesh behind then becoming placid for a short while after, this time is used for personnel to clean up. The item must be fed bimonthly in order for the it to stay alive and allow it to communicate. It seems to use the head as some sort of bio-fuel to create electricity through an inside, possibly organic, bio-fuel system that keeps it alive and allows it to power the TV that surrounds it.
It is able to interact with the television, allowing it to speak through live and recorded broadcasts, changing channels based on what words it wants to speak. Due to an interview between Dr. █████ and the item and multiple tests on Class D personnel, it seems to be a mutated species of insect inside the television. It is unknown at this time but it is estimated that the species could possibly be [REDACTED].
When the item is alone, it calls out for a person named [REDACTED]. All attempts to track down this person have been unsuccessful. It's presumed that [REDACTED] was the one who put the insect inside of the television. There are a total of [REDACTED] recordings but only 1 is available to personnel. The item knowing how to understand the English language, record and access television broadcasts, hear and see is unknown at this point.
