Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4117 is to be kept within the confinement of foundation facility [REDACTED]. SCP-4117 is to be kept under careful surveillance by exactly two foundation personnel from the times of 1:38 PM and 8:18 AM EST. Containment area is to be watched at all times by exactly two foundation personnel. When trading off containment area watch posts the personnel entering the room must be blinded by any means until the previous personnel have left the containment area. Absolutely no video or photography allowed!

Description: SCP-4117 appears as a California license plate reading “FIGURED” when inactive. SCP-4117 is active between the hours of 1:38 PM and 8:18 AM EST.
When active, SCP-4117 changes its lettering every 10 minutes to form 7 letter words, always remaining a California license plate. Lettering changes appear random and have no decipherable meaning as of yet. At 8:18 AM EST SCP-4117 reverts to its original lettering of “FIGURED”. If SCP-4117 is left out of sight during active hours it’s position moves, often out of the containment area. During testing it was found that when viewed by more or less than 2 subjects at a time the subjects would begin to experience audio hallucinations of the words appearing on SCP-4117. Every case of these audio hallucinations occurring has never been shown to leave subjects involved except during SCP-4117’s time of inactivity. All subjects were driven to insanity and committed suicide within a week of initial hallucinations.
