Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is currently stored in a standard locker cell on Site-53.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a recording of a specific series of notes, played over the course of two minutes. The anomalous effect of the recording was not replicable.

When a sapient subject listens to the recording, they are capable of replaying the melody with any available percussive instrument. In the event that they do not have a customary percussive instrument, they are capable of manufacturing their own apparatus using the available materials.

SCP-XXXX Testing Logs

The following tests were conducted with D-Class personnel in the event that the object displays additional anomalous effects. The D-Class do not have any significant history with playing music.

Test Log: XXXX-01

Subject: D-XXXX-01

Instrument: A xylophone

Result: The subject did not know how to play. A summary lesson was given to the subject, which resulted in subjectively bad music.

Notes: The subject was given piece of sheet music that was a transcription of the original recording. Baseline test.

Test Log: XXXX-02

Subject: D-XXXX-01

Instrument: A xylophone

Result: After subjecting D-XXXX-01 to SCP-XXXX, the subject was able to recreate the melody with precision not exhibited prior to test.

Notes: The xylophone is physically unable to reach the full range of the original melody. However, the recording of D-XXXX-01’s playing indicated a complete copy of SCP-XXXX.

Test Log: XXXX-05

Subject: D-XXXX-04 and D-XXXX-03

Instrument: A marimba

Result: D-XXXX-03 was not subject to SCP-XXXX effect. After D-XXXX-04’s performance, D-XXXX-03 was told to repeat the song, of which prompted subjectively bad music.

Notes: This test was carried out to determine whether SCP-XXXX’s effects were memetic. For clarification, it was not.

Test Log: XXXX-11

Subject: D-XXXX-08

Instrument: A cup full of paperclips

Result: After a twenty minute period, D-XXXX-08 constructed a small appliance that can be plucked. The amplified recordings indicated a full replication of SCP-XXXX

Test Log: XXXX-12

Subject: D-XXXX-08

Instrument: A used bullet, a mechanical pencil, and Junior Researcher Scott’s sandwich.

Result: After two hours, D-XXXX-08 deconstructed the sandwich and covered the mechanical pencil with the remains. Using the bullet as a sort of pick, D-XXXX-08 replicated SCP-XXXX.

Instrument: Nothing. D-XXXX-09 is also nude.

Result: Removed.
