Special Containment Procedures: All authorised research personnel are to wear sound cancelling headphones at all times when in the objects containment cell, to cancel the output of the object. SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a containment cell equipped with high frequency receivers to cancel the output of the object. All research conducted regarding SCP-XXXX must be done inside its containment cell. Personnel must not touch SCP-XXXX’s volume knob unless authorized by higher command. Personnel must not touch the tuning knob of SCP-XXXX unless authorized by higher command. SCP-XXXX’s antenna must be un-extended at all times unless research is being conducted.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a Sony ICF S10MK2 Pocket AM FM Radio. It was found in a pawn shop in the town of Monterey, Wisconsin. The battery compartment is completely corroded with a black sludge. Further analysis of a sample of this substance is being conducted in an undisclosed chemical laboratory in Michigan. Current research of this substance suggests it holds an incredible electric charge and is of biological origin. The sludge seems to be the radio’s power source, as no batteries can be seen in the compartment. The object can receive FM signals and convert them into songs, news broadcasts, and talk shows.When the tuning knob is turned to AM frequencies, the object emits an ear piercing static sound. Once researchers tuned the object to 1490 kHz, the static stopped. Upon further research, the object was emitting a signal never before documented once tuned to 1490 kHz. This signal was reported to boost the researchers’ conscious control of their brains from 5% to 99% in approximately 6 seconds. The researchers were able to directly control things never previously governed by the conscious mind, such as the heart, liver, respiratory and digestive systems, among others. The signal gave the researchers complete control over everything that was controllable neurologically in their body. Six of the seven researchers present experienced heart failure, lung failure, or other organ failures within 20 seconds of testing SCP-XXXX, because they could not handle the responsibility of pumping their own heart, moving their own lungs, and other bodily necessities. The seventh researcher managed to turn off the radio before his organs shut down. He was later admitted to the site’s medical ward for emergency care. The researcher later revealed he had an “immense psychological surge of information” he had never known to exist once he tuned the object to 1490 kHz. He passed one hour after the incident and no more information was obtained. The anomaly has been contained in a cell that has modified receivers that emit a frequency to equalize and cancel the radio’s frequency. The object is checked daily for any tampering of the tuning and volume knob, and for alterations in the sludge in its battery compartment.

1. SCP-XXXX does not appear to affect any other conscious living being, research into this topic is still being conducted.
2. Other AM frequencies higher than 1490 kHz do not emit static and are believed to alter other parts of the body, although we do not know exactly what parts and how these frequencies affect them.
3. The substance inside of SCP-XXXX changes form slightly every so often on an irregular basis.
4. The substance inside of SCP-XXXX has yielded DNA, but it is Silicon based instead of Carbon based like the lifeforms of Earth.
