Special Containment Procedures: Because off the nature of SCP-5092, it is simply impossible to contain it. Keeping it around a living creature has proven to be far more safe.
Should there be no living creatures near SCP-5092, any and all personnel nearby should immediately place themselves within the cell of SCP-5092. If any living thing removes themselves from SCP-5092, they should immediately be terminated. Any creature that is in contact or was in contact with SCP-5092 should be under 24 hour surveillance.
Currently, there are no possible ways to become infected other than physical contact. Taking any skin samples is extremely dangerous and should be done with the utmost caution. Any who are infected should have medical attention instantly or they will be terminated. The infection starts instantly and causes the skin growth rate off any living organism to speed up immensely. This rapid growth only occurs on organic material. If in contact with SCP-5092, it is a must to be wearing a hazmat suit.
The origins off SCP-5092 were found out during a medical surgery on [ DATA EXPUNGED ]. The containment protocols is a cell completely stone cell with a iron door. The room temperature is to be kept at below zero at all times to prevent the skin from multiplying.
Description: The first sightings off SCP-5092 was from German farmers. The farmers say that they say a large mass of skin covering there livestock. The skin would stay on the live stock for a certain amount off time until the livestock off choice was nothing but skin. Then it would move on to the next animal and do the same. The farmers reported to the police, who then tried small fire arms, fire, and many other things, all had no affect. After that the foundation was contacted to investigate the strange anomaly.
All off the creatures that are "infected" by SCP-5092 are quickly turned into a pile off skin. There have been no other reports off large piles off moving skin anywhere else in the world. The skin is that off an unknown creature and any DNA test done on it have been inconclusive.
SCP-5092 is a large pile of "living" skin. It appears to be able to sense any living creatures near it and is attracted to them for a unknown reason. If someone is "infected" they can stand in a below zero environment to stop the spread off SCP-5092. SCP-5092 appears to dislike the cold and any creatures that are cold in temperature are seemingly immune to SCP-5092. The large blob off skin spreads by somehow moving silently on the ground. It will then attach itself to the closest living thing and start turning it to skin. If touched by and organic matter trying to remove it, the organic matter will start to turn to skin.
Once SCP-5092 is attached to its target, the creature will quickly start growing skin on all parts off the body. If SCP-5092 is damaged in any way, will instantly regenerate and it will release a white gas that, when touched or breathed in, will start growing skin on the inside off the body. Once the subject has been completely covered in skin, any other parts off the body like muscle and bone will also be turned into skin. Once the subject is a pile off skin, they will merge with the other skin creating a larger mass off skin. However, if in a below zero environment, SCP-5092 will just stick to the subject and sit there.
While being near the skin, the subject will have a strong urge to touch the skin. Once touching the skin the subject will feel no need to stop the skin and appears to actually want to join the skin. This seems to be do to the fact that the subject is given a feeling of comfort, joy and love. How the skin makes the subject feel this way is still unknown. If observed by a human the skin will stop at nothing to reach the human unless it is turning something at that moment. They will stop at nothing to reach there target unless your in a below zero environment in which you are safe. The only safe way to continue surveillance on SCP-5092 is to use cameras.
