Nostalgia Kills

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept within a 2x2 steel box, only possible to open with lock and key, within a standard containment cell. Under no circumstances should SCP-XXXX be removed from this box unless during testing with D Class Personnel. No essential personnel are to ever enter the cell of SCP-XXXX unless bringing in an instance of SCP-XXXX-3.

Should any instance of SCP-XXXX-2 be released from containment, they should be hunted down and returned to their padded cell unless armed and dangerous in which case they are to be shot on sight. Any personnel that come into direct contact with SCP-XXXX's cognito-hazardous effects are to be labelled an instance of SCP-XXXX-2 and are to be escorted to a padded cell adjacent to SCP-XXXX's containment cell.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a regular sized blank VHS tape made of an unknown material, that has so far proved to be near indestructible, with no clear or discernable branding upon it. SCP-XXXX's Cognito-hazardous effects begin to manifest upon visually viewing the item itself. Upon looking at the item it will appear to be a VHS tape from the individual who views it's past, usually inciting a positive emotion within the individual. Upon the item being placed within any regular VHS player and TV (Henceforth being referred to as SCP-XXXX-3) the first estimated 5 minutes of the film will begin to play with no visible abnormalities before the screen becomes nothing more than static to all other than the individual that inserted the tape (Henceforth referred to as SCP-XXXX-2). After another 2 minutes, SCP-XXXX-2 will begin to show multiple symptoms of mania and will begin flailing and shouting profanities at SCP-XXXX. After another 10 minutes SCP-XXXX-2 will seem to have fully descended into insanity and will attempt to find any way to harm himself, SCP-XXXX or anything else that gets in its way. Upon reaching this stage it is advised that SCP-XXXX-2 be restrained by armed riot guards and escorted to a separate cell in order to keep the asset alive for further testing
