Untouchable Frog

Item #: XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedure:
SCP-XXXX is to be held in a standard containment cell, inside a small, clear box atop a podium. Level 2 security clearance or higher is required to enter this room outside of testing. In the event that SCP-XXXX breaches containment, staff are to locate it as soon as possible and report its location before any attempts to re-contain it.

Description:
SCP-XXXX is a small blue and green ceramic frog measuring about 7.2 cm in height. It has a small hole on its underside and is hollow inside. SCP-XXXX is inanimate and immobile under normal circumstances, appearing to be a regular, non-anomalous ceramic frog.

When any individual attempts to directly interact with SCP-XXXX, its anomalous properties manifest. SCP-XXXX will instantaneously disappear and reappear in another location, usually within 10 meters of its original position. SCP-XXXX will almost always reappear in a location outside of the field of view of the person interacting with it, although it disregards this rule if it is impossible due to the circumstances (e.g. video cameras).

Any impending damage, such as a large object falling on it, also causes it to relocate. However, in the event that an individual intentionally attempts to harm the object, it will relocate inside of their windpipe, suffocating them. This may indicate a sense of self-preservation, and possibly even sentience, as impending unintentional damage from an individual causes it to relocate normally. Further testing is required.

Testing Log:

██/██/████
D-XXX attempts to pick up SCP-XXXX

Result:
SCP-XXXX relocates to a spot on the floor 5.6 meters away from its original position, behind D-XXX

██/██/████
D-XXX is taken to a room adjacent to SCP-XXXX’s containment cell. D-XXX is then presented with a button, and told that pressing the button will fire a bullet at SCP-XXXX. D-XXX presses the button, and as expected, a bullet is fired at SCP-XXXX.

Result:
SCP-XXXX disappears moments before the bullet hits it. D-XXX then starts grabbing at their throat, appearing to be choking. Researcher ██████ attempts the Heimlich maneuver on D-XXX, but their condition does not seem to improve. More attempts are made to dislodge SCP-XXXX from the D class’s throat, but all prove ineffective. D-XXX perishes due to suffocation after 6 minutes of struggling.

██/██/████
D-XXX is brought into the same room mentioned in the previous report, but with a different button that is not linked to anything. Despite this, D-XXX is also told that a bullet will be fired at SCP-XXXX. D-XXX presses the button

Result:
Nothing happens and SCP-XXXX stays stationary.

██/██/████
D-XXX is brought into SCP-XXXX’s containment cell, blindfolded. D-XXX is then guided to an area about 1 meter in front of SCP-XXXX and handed a revolver, loaded with 1 round. Researchers verbally guide D-XXX’s aim towards SCP-XXXX, and he is instructed to shoot. Note that D-XXX was not given any context to where he is, why he is shooting or what he is shooting at. D-XXX believes that he is shooting at the wall.

Result:
SCP-XXXX relocates normally and D-XXX remains unharmed.
