Or would it be Iuvenalis' Sandbox? English is confusing. Skip drafts will go here sooner or later.
DRAWING BOARD: I'm putting my ideas here so I don't forget them! This'll go in a different tab once I start writing drafts and get formatting down.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA WRITER'S BLOCK EXECUTIVE DYSFUNCTION AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGGGGGGGGGGGGH
Ever since I first browsed this site, the CotBG was a personal favorite GoI of mine. I was binging a lot of Broken God stuff lately and it kicked my brain into gear (no pun intended), so I hashed together a concept for a CotBG narrative that I could probably work into either a skip or a tale (although note I had conceptualized it as a skip).
XXX1: Broken God skip I'm probably going to work on first
- Basically the Broken-God's hands
- Appears as a "weather phenomenon" during lightning storms
- A pair of titanium hands that transforms human beings into "angels" of the Broken-God
- These angels are mechanical creatures that take several different forms, but all have mask-like metal human faces
- There are two different types of angels, one that creates machines and another that seeks out and destroys things that oppose the COTBG
- Each of these two types of angel is divided into five different castes with different features
- The "right hand" (marked by a black line) creates destroyer-angels while the "left-hand" (marked by a red line) creates the builder-angels
- The hands and the angels disappear into a cog-shaped cloud formation in the sky at the end of the lightning storm
- Previously created angels sometimes accompany the hands when they appear
- It is ambiguous whether or not these are really the hands of the Broken-God, since the angels seem to attack other sects
- On top of this a priest named Gideon along with several other lesser cultists often appears at the site of manifestation
- Code of Conduct for observation of the phenomenon by Gideon
- Letter from an MTF who defected to the Church
Less fleshed out ideas I may or may not work on at a later date below.
The Fool's Special Card Game! - A joker playing card that can be inserted into a computer via USB or disc-drive through anomalous means. Downloads a game made for the DOS that features a joker/clown like humanoid and various card games. All are non-anomalous except for the final one on the list, "The Fool's Special Card Game!" in which the player and fool take turns drawing cards. The cards drawn trigger various absurd events to happen to the other player, and one is declared the winner when one concedes or is incapable of drawing another card (in the human player's case, unable to click the button to draw the card, while in the Fool's case, unable to reach the stack of cards in the center of the table. The card would have been recovered from a raid on Marshall, Carter, and Dark.
Anti-Hot-Potato - A tale or series of tales revolving around a small alien creature with an anomalous effect that makes it an extremely desirable object to observers. The series would revolve around a person who owned the creature as a pet trying to rescue it from a number of GoIs (including the Foundation itself) who keep stealing the creature from each other.
The Journals of Lizandra Sarri - A tale series, half-serious, half-humorous. In modern-day Athens, a researcher named Lizandra Sarri stumbles upon a complex labyrinth underneath the ancient city filled with strange sights. Gelatinous humanoid heads as tall as bears slither around on gooey tendrils, patrolling the halls. Malformed humanoids with purple-black skin pour from a foul-smelling vortex in the heart of the maze. When Lizandra enters the portal, she discovers an alternate earth where the Plague of Athens devastated the world and turned the inhabitants of earth into the strange purple beasts she witnessed crawling from the blemish in the earth. Inside she meets the person responsible for this apocalypse, a flea-shaped monster whose bony exterior reminds one of a distorted human skeleton. This being is named Yersinia, and it takes Lizandra on an interdimensional journey all while slowly giving its knowledge of the secrets of the universe. Yersinia basically doesn't infect the inhabitants of the worlds it conquers in a traditional sense, or, at least, that's not its goal. It intends to transform sapients into these things in order to infect its true target: reality. It hops from universe to universe, infecting each timeline. This is kept a secret and is slowly revealed. Yersinia keeps Lizandra with itself during its travels because it believes her to be the heir to its self-appointed title of "Plaguemaster".
