Area 45 is the only active facility under control of the SCP Foundation which is known to be comprised entirely of anomalies with the ability to cause end-of-the-world events, or worse.

Area 45 contains SCPs under a classification known as Hyperthaumiel, this classification depends on both the danger of the anomaly in question, and the reliability of Foundation containment of it.

Area 45 is divided as per the following list:

Unit - The Facility is divided into 3 main parts, known as Units, these are the Entrance Unit, Containment Unit and the Maintenance Unit. Units are used to separate different parts of the facility used for completely different purposes, such as the Containment and Entrance Sector, each designated to do different things.
Sector - Each unit is divided into Sectors, each designated as a numeral, beginning from the entrance of the Unit. Sectors are used to separate different parts of the unit which hold different purposed rooms, for example, Sector 1 may hold medical facilities, whilst Sector 2 may be a personnel dormitory facility. In the case of the Containment Unit, as another example, Sector 1 may be a memetohazard containment area whilst Sector 2 may be a dimensional-hazard containment area.
Zone - Not every sector is divided into zones, but those that do are designated as alphabetical characters, beginning from the entrance of the sector. Zones are used to separate parts of sectors for very specific reasons, for example, Zone A may be used for humanoid-class biohazards, and Zone B may be used for object-class biohazards.

When communicating, areas must be referenced in the following way:
Abbreviation of unit name + Sector number + Zone designation.
Therefore, CU5B would be Containment Unit - Sector 5 - Zone B.

Entrance Unit

The Entrance unit is the only unit in the facility through which personnel can exit or enter, it is also where personnel are located when not on-duty.

Sector 1 (EU1)

Sector 1 of the Entrance Unit is for civil operations.
