Item #: SCP-5074
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:
Description: SCP-5074 is a 198cm(6.5ft) tall entity, often crouched down in a hunched position. SCP-5074 seems to change appearance depending on the participant viewing them, but it is consistently reported that they speak in a deep, hushed voice. Despite varying reports on appearance, descriptions of SCP-5074 always include a dark black coloration and large eyes, with some referring to them as seemingly innocent while others have described them as horribly unsettling.
SCP-5074 is capable of intelligent communication, but is unresponsive to most verbal prompts. If presented with a person SCP-5074 has not yet interacted with, they will ask the participant a question. This first question always being, "Do you think I am a monster?"
Depending on the response given, SCP-5074 will either remain docile, or in most cases, become hostile and attack the given participant with seemingly lethal intent.
Item #: SCP-5071
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5071 can be contained in any acid resistant material no less than 90cm in width, and must be checked every 20 minutes. If this is not possible the dimensions of the containment walls must be modified accordingly. Under no circumstances should SCP-5071 be fed live prey.
Description: SCP-5071 is a reptilian species native to Australia's Northern Territory. They weigh typically 7-15lbs and can grow up to 120cm in length, with bony scales covering the majority of the body. When grown, the skin is strong enough to protect against a blade. SCP-5071 has sharp claws as well as padded fingers to allow for better traction on various surfaces, and it's bat-like ears are the only exterior area of the body with softer, more vulnerable skin. SCP-5071 can run at up to 11.5mph(5.1m/s), and has two venomous fangs that it uses to hunt live prey by injecting a toxic substance into the body. The bite is painful but the presence of venom is otherwise undetectable until symptoms arise. Between 10-15 minutes after the initial bite, symptoms of paralysis begin to take over the body, and within 3 minutes of the first symptom's appearance, the body becomes entirely immobile. This paralysis lasts up to 90 minutes, after which the body slowly recovers mobility over a time span of 10-25 minutes.
The act of hunting for SCP-5071 can last anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours. It typically attacks the lower limbs of it's prey, only needing to inject a small amount of venom. SCP-5071 will then hide at a safe distance until paralysis has fully taken over, after which it will regurgitate it's extremely erosive stomach acid onto the live body in order to dissolve it for consumption. Subjects are unable to react due to paralysis, but it is considered an agonizingly painful experience. SCP-5071 will hunt every 3-5 days, and will only attempt to catch large prey.
A reaction between the venom in the body and the stomach acid dissolving it creates a toxin, harmless to SCP-5071, that increases the strength of the venom SCP-5071 excretes. This causes wild or recently live-fed subjects of SCP-5071 origin to be impossible to contain in any material for prolonged periods of time, and require constant reinforcement to the structure of the container. This hyper-erosive acid will revert to it's base strength after two weeks without any ingestion of the unidentified toxin. SCP-5071 has not been observed to inject poison into dead or immobile prey, and should only be fed dead meat.
Prior to containment, SCP-5071 has caused a suspected 62 deaths, with only 19 reported sightings. All known live subjects are currently contained, each at a separate facility in order to prevent potential breeding if a breech of containment occurs.
