Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3824-a and SCP-3824-3 must be contained inside one standard shipping container kept 100 meters away from all personnel unaware of the REECPFAM (ˈriːzpfeɪm) Program’s existence and ready for shipment at any time. This 100-meter distance applies for SCP-3824-a, SCP-3824-3 and is valid for all directions. These resulting imaginary safety-spheres must be upheld and protected by security personnel at all times, with the only exception being officially scheduled testing and transportation.

Since the safety-spheres around SCP-3824-a and SCP-3824-3 may be penetrated by unauthorized personnel during facility expansion or maintenance efforts, it is important to be able to move SCP-3824-a and SCP-3824-3 together at any time. Hence it was decided to lock both anomalous objects and their contents inside a shipping container welded to a railcar on rail 7 inside the perimeter of site 15-2.

All personnel assigned to work inside the safety spheres of SCP-3824-a and SCP-3824-3 must undergo psychological examination at the beginning of every workday spent inside these safety spheres and before being allowed to enter them.

All instances of SCP-3824-1 must be kept inside a uranium-waver-transport-briefcase equipped with holsters for heat resistant test tubes. Such briefcases must be stored at chamber 4, unit B, Site 15-2.

All instances of SCP-3824-n must be kept inside of SCP-3824-a at all times, with the only exception being officially scheduled testing by members of the REECPFAM Program with handwritten permission of an 05-Council-Member.

Victims of SCP-3824-n (SCP-3824-4) are categorized as light Biohazards and must be incinerated within 2 hours after their demise. Failure to do so will result in the spread of SCP-3824-2, a heavy Biohazard.

Class D personnel must be kept unaware of SCP-3824's existence at all cost. Class D personnel and other unauthorized personnel aware of SCP-3824's existence must be terminated immediately or be injected with sufficient class-C amnesthetic to wipe out any memory of an encounter. The latter option is not realizable after the subject has suffered from memetic effects originating from SCP-3824-a’s material.

Unauthorized research staff who happen to have suffered from SCP-3824’s memetic effect have a right to undergo procedure D9-T1, to avoid termination. All personnel aware of SCP-3824's existence must have pledged oath SCP-3824-O-v.1.7 (Oath) to the 05-Council and passed Special-Trustworthyness-Test-v.1.1 (STT).

Personnel knowing of SCP-3824's existence can recommend any Level 3 researcher for STT and Oath to the 05-Council via means of 8C-436. This does not apply for non-research staff.

Due to the risks involved with working exposed to SCP-3824-n, wearing a cut-preventative full-body suit is mandatory when entering light testing chamber 1, unit A, site 15-2, regardless of whether the shipping container is to be opened or not. It is not allowed to open the shipping container outside of chamber 1, unit A, site 15-2 as of to date.

In the event of an SCP-3824-2 containment breach, all personnel on site must report to their medical stations and wear hazmat-suits for a 24-hour duration.

In the event of an SCP-3824-n containment breach, the above applies. Additionally, all responding MTF-Units must be informed of SCP-3824-n’s potential response to harmful intent, by any means necessary.

SCP-3824-5

All instances of SCP-3824-5 are to be kept inside a double-locked uranium-waver-transport-briefcase at chamber 9, unit F, Site 15-2. No experiments are to be conducted on SCP-3824-5 until all modifications to chamber 9, unit F, Site 15-2 have been implemented according to directive DJ982-5.

REECPFAM Orientation:

History: On the 7th of [REDACTED], Opal, a satellite of the Global Occult Coalition, detected a storm in the Pacific Ocean at [REDACTED] moving towards [REDACTED] California. Due to its inexplicably accelerated growth and radioactive nature the GOC rated this storm anomalous. A request for on-site situational reconnaissance was sent to the SCP foundation and the Unusual Incidents Unit by the GOC-intelligence-service.

The foundation received this request via its specially reserved phone-line for communication with the GOC-offices.

Since the aftermath of anomalous storms have often turned out to be of no interest to the foundation, it was initially decided to decline the GOC’s request. At this time the foundation’s Ocean Prince, a 5th generation cloaking vessel, was participating in training exercises near [REDACTED] Canada.

20 minutes after this request a second call came in on the same line, but from a different caller. The caller claimed to be part of Prometheus Blue Publishing (PBP), a company publishing various scientific journals, formerly part of Prometheus Labs, Inc.

The individual described SCP-3824-a and its contents in detail. He demanded to know if the foundation acquired these anomalous objects. When denied access to this information, he repeatedly insisted that “they must have arrived by now”. Once faced with silence from the foundation’s side, as staff contacted the 05-council for advice on the subject and attempts of locating the caller were made, the individual began begging, asking if it were possible to “do science together” and warning that “we must replicate the factory’s capabilities before it’s too late”.

An 05-council authority commanded to terminate the call. The Ocean Prince was sent to the position of the UIU Taskforce responding to the GOC request at full speed with use of its cloaking ability.

The Ocean Prince arrived at the site of a stranded cargo ship of unknown origin. UIU Officers were preparing to register the anomalous objects, recovered from within the vessel, for the GOC.

A size B cash-bribe was used to prohibit this from occurring for SCP-3824-a, SCP-3824-3, all SCP-3824-n and other anomalous objects [undisclosed]. Which were all brought to site 15-2.

Before the Ocean Prince arrived at site 15-2 an 05-council emergency meeting, regarding the caller from PBP, concluded with the creation of two Programs:

The sweep-shake Program to ensure the foundation’s security after this event.
This Program is currently active. Its latest result was evidence suggesting knowledge of SCP-3824-n in some branches of Serpent’s hand prior to the PBP-caller-event.

The Reverse Engineering the Elementary Chemistry and Physics behind the Factory’s production process of Anomalous Materials (REECPFAM) Program.
This program has achieved its primary objective and is now continuing under the name [REDACTED]. Its latest result was a functional replica of SCP-3824-n (SCP-3824-5).

Objectives of the REECPFAM Program:

• Primary objective: reverse engineer one anomalous aspect or all aspects of SCP-3824-n and produce a functional replica to demonstrate an understanding of anomalous manufacturing
• Secondary objective: psychoanalyze SCP-3824-n and predict its behavior
• Tertiary objective: reverse engineer the memetic effect and other anomalous aspects of SCP-3824-a and produce a functional replica
• Quaternary objective: develop effective immunization and treatment for SCP-3824-2
• Quinary objective: analyze and replicate SCP-3824-1’s compound, find use-cases for it
• Senary objective: conduct thaumiel testing for SCP-3824-n and SCP-3824-5

SCP-3824 is the collective designation given to a light-blue wooden crate (SCP-3824-a) and its contents, as well as all subjects and objects affected by them.

SCP-3824-a is a light-blue wooden crate. Its most dangerous anomaly is a potentially deadly memetic effect applying to subjects with any type of bad conscience when entering its vicinity (sphere of ca. 100m). The inside of SCP-3824-a is the only adequate long-term storage for all instances of SCP-3824-n.

SCP-3824-n are instances of a complexly arranged unknown material, each in form of what some would describe as “big white sheets of paper”. Their anomalous properties consist of the ability to bend and move out of own power, sentience-like behavior and their unknown material. Unfamiliar sounds and actions taken with harmful intent towards SCP-3824-n and SCP-3824-a may cause SCP-3824-n to attack subjects by trying to inflict cuts on them. This may lead to an infection with SCP-3824-2 (theorized). Subjects attacked by SCP-3824-n are advised to show signs of fear, such as heavy breathing and begging, whilst not actively defending themselves via means of counter-attacking. Other yet unknown stimuli may cause SCP-3824-n to attack, caution is advised.

SCP-3824-1 are instances of a foundation made solution of SCP-3824-3’s light-blue paint. Their anomalous behavior includes inexplicable changes in the amount of heat and ionizing radiation given off.

SCP-3824-2 is the name assigned to an aggressive type of bacteria living within all instances of SCP-3824-n. These bacteria are a heavy biohazard. For this reason, research on them may only take place with 05-Council Permission.

SCP-3824-3 is a broken-off piece from SCP-3824-a. It thus has the same anomalous properties as SCP-3824-a, excluding those in regard to its role for SCP-3824-n.

SCP-3824-4 are cadavers infected with SCP-3824-2. These cadavers decompose anomalously fast and act as a breeding ground for SCP-3824-2. They are categorized as a light biohazard.

SCP-3824-5 [REDACTED]

Summary of Findings:

SCP-3824-a is a large, light blue Crate with scratches from sliding on all sides and the remains of a glued-on paper banner on its removable top side. It measures 2*5*1 Meters and weighs 3.85 kg with all instances of SCP-3824-n inside and 3 kg when empty. Its light blue color is deeply integrated into SCP-3824-a’s material and of unknown chemical composition¹. Due to its chemical composition and simplistic tracheid² structure SCP-3824-a’s material classifies as softwood. A specific tree-species could not be determined. It is theorized that SCP-3824-a’s source materials were altered on a subatomic level to resemble the structure of wood, such that SCP-3824-a’s source materials may not have been of biological origin³.

SCP-3824-a was found inside a stranded Cargo Ship near [REDACTED], recovered by [REDACTED]. SCP-3824-a was found unlocked, with its lock attachments broken off and missing.

A roughly 1*4*0.5 cm piece of SCP-3824-a (SCP-3824-3) presumably stemming from SCP-3824-a’s removable top was found next to SCP-3824-a. It is likely to have been broken off by impact forces, as its microfractures along tracheid-walls on one side of the object indicate. The shape of this side on SCP-3824-3 also corresponds to the shape of the area on SCP-3824-a’s removable top side on which similar microfractures have been found.

Solutions containing SCP-3824-3’s light blue compound (SCP-3824-1) have shown to emit heat and radiation once chemically separated from SCP-3824-3’s material. The amount of emitted radiation and heat varies violently over time, but seems to never exceed over 370 degrees Kelvin and 8000 Bq/kg. As of to date, all theories meant to predict SCP-3824-1’s change in temperature and radioactivity over time were proven wrong. No correlations between environmental influences and SCP-3824-1’s temperature and radioactivity have been identified⁴.

Reports of personnel approaching SCP-3824-a/-3 with any type of bad conscience indicate memetic effects originating from SCP-3824-a's material. These are hallucinations consisting of strange screeching noises and visuals of modern CIA torture, such as waterboarding. Some reports include visuals from different types of modern-day torture conducted by other groups and organizations throughout the human world of the 1950's to today and a wider range of uncomforting sounds. These hallucinations can cause cardiac arrest as proven with incident SCP-3824-I-1, the only fatal incident of the REECPFAM Program as of to date. The Victim in question felt responsible and morally guilty for the death of D-[REDACTED] and incident [REDACTED], as was proven after a review of his conversations held at [REDACTED] with other Level 3 personnel.

[SECTION REDACTED] Instances of SCP-3824-1 have not shown any kind of memetic effect.

The furthest distance a memetic event has occurred for personnel approaching SCP-3824-a/-3 was 80 meters, imaginary line of sight, object not visible for the subject. Subject survived, with irremovable memory of the event. The Subject is now in psychiatric care, seeming to be recovering. Psychoanalytical reports are still impending. SCP-3824-3 has shown the same properties as SCP-3824-a, even when taken far away from SCP-3824-a. Any memetic effect experienced from SCP-3824-a and SCP-3824-3 will leave an irremovable memory of the memetic event within 2 minutes after the event.

SCP-3824-n, the contents of SCP-3824-a are 50 thin, white sheets of unknown materials, arranged in four layers of muscle-cell-like tissue, each with its cell-structure best visible at [REDACTED] enlargement under [REDACTED].

All instances of SCP-3824-n measure 1.8*4.8*0.002 meters each and share the following properties: They feel soft to the skin, like silk, some report. Each weigh only 0.017 kg, have a semi-free consciousness, perhaps capable of creating an individual personality (inconclusive testresults, please consult Dr. Alada, sentience testing in progress) and possess the ability to notice stimuli of touch and sound. SCP-3824-n can manipulate their shape by themselves⁵. This gives them the ability to fly, walk on two corners, slide under doors, attack with 5000 newtons due to rapid acceleration, strangle someone with 2000 newtons etc.⁶

SCP-3824-n are capable of developing conditioned reflexes. Protocol used for Pavlov conditioning: [REDACTED] Important: Most instances of SCP-3824-n will be aggravated by the sound of dinner-bells and react aggressively!

SCP-3824-n are very hostile towards any sound they have not heard before, no matter how quiet the sound is, proving a self-protective attitude⁷. SCP-3824-n react to sounds of just 1db of any frequency from 50 meters away and can always differentiate between two notes, even 1/1000 of 1 Hz apart⁸. SCP-3824-n will attempt to attack the source of any new sound until it either ceases, is accepted as tolerable by multiple SCP-3824-n, or in case of living beings, shows audible signs of suffering or touch-feelable trembling / sweating from fear of death⁹. Studies on SCP-3824-n's combat behavior have shown communication via means of touch between instances of SCP-3824-n¹⁰. SCP-3824-n have always assumed a ragdoll state after attacking new staff (due to unfamiliar sounds) lasting for 30 minutes or until the subject told SCP-3824-n to move again¹¹. SCP-3824-n will do anything for a human subject, unless it is phrased or said in an impolite / commanding manner or means harming other living organisms (bigger than 1 cm³) which show no signs of aggression¹².

After 45 minutes of uninterrupted physical activity, some instances of SCP-3824-n need to rest, while other instances of SCP-3824-n will continue serving the subject as long as they receive polite verbal requests every 2 to 6 minutes¹³.

The politer the subject is towards SCP-3824-n, the more likely it becomes for instances of SCP-3824-n to defend the subject, even against other SCPs, as proven with SCP-[SECTION REDACTED] (further Thaumiel testing impending).

Whilst SCP-3824-n seem to want to serve polite behaving humans, their obedience wears off after about 1 to 6 hours after the first meeting, unless SCP-3824-n is allowed to seek refuge inside SCP-3824-a for 7 to 9 minutes, replenishing its will to serve for an uncertain amount of time.

SCP-3824-n will only follow a human if politely asked to, or when dangerous situations (for the human subject) arise in an audible manner. Otherwise SCP-3824-n will want to stay close to SCP-3824-a¹⁴.

SCP-3824-n that are exhausted, hurt (cut), insulted, scared or unmotivated will return to SCP-3824-a for a yet unobserved and inexplicable rejuvenation process that takes approx. 8 minutes¹⁵.

The aforementioned process is interrupted when observed, even by camera and other remote sensing equipment.

In case SCP-3824-n kill any organism, the organism becomes infected with bacteria stemming from the inside of SCP-3824-n (SCP-3824-2) (presumably injected via a hidden fang inside one of the corners of SCP-3824-n) which replicate rapidly and ensure a complete decomposition of cadavers of any size within 5 minutes after a 2-hour incubatory state for the disease that is SCP-3824-2. SCP-3824-2 can also infect living organisms after the initial 2-hour incubatory state. However, SCP-3824-2 is only active for 12 hours after leaving SCP-3824-n, after which all bacteria die at once, ending the outbreak. Since there is no treatment for SCP-3824-2 yet, it must be understood as a serious biohazard for all working with SCP-3824-n, even though no infection of such kind has yet occurred among staff¹⁶. SCP-3824-n has not used SCP-3824-2 against living organisms as of to date, but it is imaginable that this may happen to subjects with harmful intent towards SCP-3824-n and SCP-3824-a¹⁷.

Notice

During incident SCP-3824-I-18, two instances of SCP-3824-n were lost, one oxidized rapidly, turning into fine carbon powder. The other was cut up by a ventilation fan, its remains, not bigger than 7 cm², turned into four-layered silk cloth by an unknown process. Since this incident happened on accident and no harm was ever intended towards SCP-3824-n during testing, SCP-3824-n did not attack personnel present at the incident-site. All remaining SCP-3824-n were in their ragdoll state, from 6 minutes after the incident until all involved personnel were freed from light testing chamber [REDACTED], Site 15-2.
