Item #: SCP-5071

Object Class: Safe Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5071 is to be contained in a standard storage locker at site-█. all SCP-5071 instances are to be contained in a standard containment chamber at site-█ with cameras in all four corners of the room facing the instance of SCP-5071. Testing must be approved and overseen by two clearance level two personnel along with the subject being monitored for all hours of the day for three weeks to a month after testing.

Description: SCP-5071 is a black hard cello case made of unknown materials with the labeling “full and a half” written on the side. Despite this labeling, measurements are consistent with a full size cello. Attempts to open the case without a human interacting with it have been unsuccessful.

When a human interacts with the case, it will turn into a hard case of an instrument the subject has wished to learn how to play in the past. It will then be able to be opened and will now contain the instrument, now designated SCP-5071-1. Instruments produced have included: a trumpet, a hurdy gurdy, a cello, both acoustic and electric guitars, a drum set and a glockenspiel. After removing the instrument, all subjects reported hearing the voice of a famous composer or musician instructing them on how to play the instrument. Voices heard include both dead artists, like Mozart and Kurt Cobain, and living artists, like Lars Ulrich and Joe Perry, even if the heard artist did not have a history of playing or knowing that instrument. Subjects that wished to learn how to sing did not have SCP-5071 change shape but still heard a voice instructing them on how to sing better.

Addendum 5071.1: Incident report

On █/█/20█ at █:█ am, four D-class personnel began pounding on their doors while screaming. Seconds after the screaming began, thumping was heard within the cells. Once the doors were opened, all four subjects were found to have ten, twelve, eighteen and twenty-five missing bones, mainly in the legs and feet. All four were missing their pelvises and skulls with no outside trauma visible. An hour after the event, two identical instances of SCP-5071, now all labeled A to C, made of bone were found throughout site-█. After containing all instances of SCP-5071, SCP-5071-A suddenly opened on its own, breaking the door of its storage locker off in the process, before launching out a skull. Two days after the event, SCP-5071-A opened once more, this time two right halves of human pelvises were ejected. Over the course of the following weeks, more bone fragments were flung out of all instances of SCP-5071, genetic material matching all four of the D-class personnel. Two researchers attempted to look inside SCP-5071-C during one of these events, but a shadowy arm with a clawed hand, designated SCP-5071-α, emerged from SCP-5071-C before proceeding to [REDACTED] and [DATA EXPUNGED] the researchers before all remains were pulled inside SCP-5071-C. An hour later, twelve more instances of SCP-5071 were found throughout site-█ and all instances began ejecting bone fragments more frequently and in larger quantities.
