SCP-4262 (will find an available number if draft deemed worthy of posting.)
“The Enthusiast”
Object Class: Safe
Containment Procedures:
SCP-4262’s is to be contained in a standard humanoid cell at Site-█ █. SCP-4262 may leave the cell at any time as long as there is a security guard available to escort SCP-4262 around the facility. SCP-4262 may enter any room in the facility that is not restricted. SCP-4262 may only enter another SCP’s containment cell or viewing room if authorized by a high ranked member of the site.
The cell should have a bed, table and chair, paper and art supplies, and a bathroom. SCP-4262 is to be fed a natural diet of a 16 year old human. Art supplies and toilet paper is to be restocked promptly if depleted and cleaning is to be provided every week.
Site personnel are encouraged to stop by SCP-4262’s containment cell at least once a day and initiate small talk, even if SCP-4262 won’t remember the conversation at all.
Description:
SCP-4262 is a male human who appears roughly around the age of 16. It possesses a British accent, and has brown hair. SCP-4262 has a cranial implant that is found where it’s right ear should be. Upon x-ray inspection, the implant appears to replace much of SCP-4262’s frontal lobe. SCP-4262 acts in a kind, ongoing, formal manner, and has a normal comprehension of basic mental skills, but has severe memory loss and even struggles to remember researchers who visit it frequently.
While SCP-4262 has severe memory loss, it somehow has knowledge of every SCP contained. If asked to recite any SCP’s report, SCP-4262 will perfectly announce the entire text. It is theorized that the cranial implant is a receiver and stores any information it collects from the SCP Foundation’s computers, papers, and even personnel’ knowledge (at the cost of memory loss). It is currently unknown how the implant achieves this.
When asked what its name is, its sex, its family members, or any personal question, SCP-4262 is unable to answer (see Interview Log 1).
SCP-4262 was found trespassing at Site-█ █, and was apprehended. When personnel saw the cranial implant and SCP-4262 was studied on and interviewed. The interview went as follows:
Interview Log 1 - August █ █, 20 █ █
Subject: Trespasser of Interest
Interviewer: Dr. Rogers
The Interview:
Dr. Rogers: Hello. We have apprehended you due to trespassing. Normally, we [DATA EXPUNGED] trespassers, but your fancy implant has caught our attention. What is your name?
Trespasser: I.. don’t know.
Dr. Rogers: What do you mean you don’t know?
Trespasser: I can’t remember much.
Dr. Rogers: Right… So what are you doing trespassing into strictly forbidden areas?
Trespasser: I.. I wanted to see SCP-█ █ █.
Dr. Rogers: How do you know that? Where have you received this information?
Trespasser points to his cranial implant.
Trespasser: I think… from here.
Dr. Rogers: Right.
Dr. Rogers contacts Dr. █ █ █ █ about the situation, and receives orders to give subject amnesia and to be studied on.
End of Report
SCP-4262 is transferred to the medical bay and undergoes extensive brain surgery. The implant is believed to be a receiving device but has never seen before technology that couldn’t be identified. Subject was repaired to exactly the way it was found and woke up several hours later.
Here is the interview had after the surgery.
Interview Log 1 - August █ █, 20 █ █
Subject: Trespasser of Extreme Interest
Interviewer: Dr. Rogers
The Interview:
Trespasser: What.. what happened?
Dr. Rogers: We conducted a surgery to better understand your implant.
Trespasser shows signs of uneasiness.
Trespasser: Oh..
Dr. Rogers: I’d like to also know where your implant gained information of SCP-█ █ █.
Trespasser: From your computer system, paper documents and SCP personnel’s mind I think.
Dr. Rogers: How is that possible?
Trespasser: I don’t know.
Dr. Rogers: I think I’ve had enough. I will test your theory in the morning. For now you’ll be contained in a cell. You have been promoted to an SCP. How does SCP-4262 sound?
Trespasser shows extreme happiness.
SCP-4262: It.. it would be an honor! I’ve been so intrigued by literally every SCP and now I get to be one! Wow…
End of Report
Several tests have been conducted to prove SCP-4262’s claims. They went as followed:
Test 4262-A - August █ █, 20 █ █
Subject: SCP-4262
Procedure: Asked subject to recite entirety of SCP-█ █ █’s data logs.
Results: Subject proceeded to recite perfectly of specified data logs. After it finished the logs, it went on to scrap notes left behind by researchers. After that, it went on about personal thoughts about SCP-█ █ █ by personnel.
Analysis: SCP-4262’s knowledge of this is frightening. Under no circumstances is SCP-4262 to be released to insure no information is released.
End of Report
Test 4262-2 - August █ █, 20 █ █
Subject: SCP-4262
Procedure: High ranked personnel officially proclaimed that a piece of gum found under a cafeteria table as “SCP-Gummy”, and a paper written report was created for it. Subject was then asked to recite entirety of “SCP-Gummy’s” “data logs”.
Results: Subject proceeded to recite perfectly of specified data logs. After it finished the logs, it went on to say it was a fake SCP created to test if SCP-4262 is able to receive new information.
Analysis: SCP-4262’s capability to retrieve information like this is interesting. SCP-4262 may be useful to Junior Researchers who are in need of a certain question answered.
End of Report
Test 4262-3 - August █ █, 20 █ █
Subject: SCP-4262
Procedure: High ranked personnel officially proclaimed that “SCP-Gummy” is to be declassified as an SCP. Subject was then asked to recite entirety of “SCP-Gummy’s” “data logs”.
Results: Subject was unable to produce anything and said “SCP-Gummy? What on Earth is that?”
Analysis: SCP-4262 can only recite what information that is known and documented by the SCP Foundation, meaning it may not be as useful as previously thought.
End of Report
Because of this knowledge SCP-4262 possesses, it is currently being considered that once SCP-4262 comes of age it will be recruited as a Senior Researcher at the SCP Foundation.
Note: SCP-4262 showed extreme joy and happiness at the remark of it being hired as a researcher.
