Special Containment Procedures:
Site-XX has been established around SCP-XXXX. A permanent task force has been posted to reinforce security at the site. Staff are required to maintain a fake archeological dig site to ensure no suspicion from the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities. If the Ministry of Antiquities do inquire about the progress of said dig, special permissions have been procured from the █████ ███████ to ensure the site maintains the facade. Any staff entering SCP-XXXX must be accompanied by at least one armed task force member. Any instance of SCP-XXXX-2 must be terminated once testing is complete. If any SCP-XXXX-2 instance breach containment, they must be neutralized before returning to SCP-XXXX-1. In the event that SCP-XXXX-3 breaches containment, the on site nuclear warhead is to be detonated.

SCP-XXXX is an ancient Egyptian tomb dated to the First Intermediate Period during the 7th dynasty located in the ██████ region of Egypt. The entrance can be accessed from the surface by a large set of stone stairs. This staircase leads to a stone wall with a rough cut entrance. The layout consists of a main open chamber, housing four sarcophagi and a set of deep catacombs behind a hidden door in the chambers southern wall.

Within the sarcophagi are mummified humans dating to about the 8th dynasty. Each one was buried in a manor befitting a higher ranking soldier in the Egyptian military. Surrounding the sarcophagi are piles containing the bones of 25-30 unknown humanoid entities. Analysis of the bones and weapons found with the soldiers remains suggest that the entities were killed by said weapons.

Upon discovery by the Foundation, the hidden door within the main chamber was smashed open, with the intact remains of one humanoid entity. These entities have been designated SCP-XXXX-2. From the hieroglyphs within the main chamber, the tomb was original dedicated to the Egyptian god Bennu and was meant to house priests who worshiped said deity. Evidence seems to suggest that the tomb was repurposed as hieroglyphics

The catacombs contain about 0.5 km of tunnels, which reaches depths of 150 meters. At the entrance to the main chambers the tunnels split into three paths. The first path appears to be a maintenance tunnel as it is much smaller than the others, most likely used as way for workers to leave once the tomb was sealed. This tunnel is still sealed and leads to the surface.

The second tunnel leads to a shaft that is a 100 meter drop to the bottom of the catacombs. At the top and bottom of the shaft there are pads which can manipulate the gravitational forces within the shaft to allow someone to easily ascend/descend. These pads are only function for instances of SCP-XXXX-2.

The third tunnel leads to a spiral staircase which descends to the bottom of the shaft on the second tunnel. Small floors appear at regular intervals on this staircase. These floors appear to consist mostly of living quarters, these match the living conditions of common people during the 7th and 8th dynasty. Each floor contained additional bones of unknown entities, totally from 123-130 instances. Analysis of the bones are inconclusive about how the entities died.

At the bottom of the shaft is a large domed chamber, measuring 50 meters in diameter. This chamber is made of a carbon steel alloy that keeps the dome structural integrety. The chamber is filled with 14 large machines. These machines are made of the same material as the dome and are each uniform in size, measuring 17 m³ each. 12 of the machines line the central walkways [See Figure 2] which ends at the center of the chamber. These machines support the operation of SCP-XXXX-1, providing fluid exchange and housing the main controls for SCP-XXXX-1. The last two machines which are on the back walkway are designed to handle input sent by SCP-XXXX-2 entities and allow them to store/access data as well as command and control SCP-XXXX-1.

In the center of the chamber is an raised dais containing a roughly hune stone chair with metal restraints for the head, wrists, legs, and abdomen of a subject. Above the chair hangs a set of robotic metal arms that hold surgical tools. These machines are powered by an unknown power source and have seen no wear and tear despite being thousands of years old. The central machine has been designated SCP-XXXX-1.

SCP-XXXX-1 is capable of performing complex surgery and genetic manipulation on human or human like subjects. Once a subject is strapped into the chair atop the dais and no other items are present, the robotic arms will descend around the subject. First a syringe of unknown fluid from an unknown source will be injected into the subject. This causes them to spasm and experience several seizures before either slipping into a comma or passing out. SCP-XXXX-1 then attaches tubs to the main curated artery of the subject, this then seems to start the exchange of blood and fluid. This process appears to keep the subject stable for the next set of surgeries. SCP-XXXX-1 then will remove the top of the subjects skull exposing their brain. Once exposed a second substance is injected into the subject's heart or main cardiovascular organ. Then the arms will enter the brain cavity where they will install several mechanical implants into the corpus callosum fibers. The implants support further staging for brain surgery. These implants release nano machines that permeate the subject's brain, modifying cerebral pathways into new structures while leaving brain cells intact. The skull is replaced and the wound is sealed. At this point, it is possible for a subject to die, however SCP-XXXX-1 makes all attempts to resuscitate them if this were to happen. If this doesn't succeed, the operation is terminated and the subjects body is left in the chair. If the subject survives, they begin to mutate and transform for the next 10 minutes. Their head will transform into that of an animals and their muscles will grow beyond the hosts initial strength. Once the transformation is complete, the tubes are extracted from the subject and the subject is released from the chair. They will immediately regain consciousness, this competes the transformation to an SCP-XXXX-2 instance. Once the process is complete, the nano machines in the brain become inert. The function of the implants after this transformation process is unknown as it self destructs when extracted or when the instance is terminated. Attempts by the Foundation to determine how and where these implants are constructed before insertion have not been successful. If any attempt is made to halt the transformation process, the subject is terminated by SCP-XXXX-1, either by destroying the brain or injecting a lethal nerve toxin through the curated artery connection.

SCP-XXXX-2 entities are similar in appearance to depictions of ancient Egyptian gods, exhibiting a humanoid body but with an animals head. These animals include:

• Ovis aries
• Canis aureus lupaster
• Felis chaus
• Felis silvestris lybica
• Anser anser domesticus
• Female Bos aegyptiacus
• Female Panthera leo
• Falco peregrinus
• Crocodylus niloticus
• Threskiornithinae

SCP-XXXX-2 entities exhibit both the original subject's DNA and that of the animal that the subject's head mutates into. Entities exhibit enhanced physical strength and toughness. Entities also exhibit some degree of sentience, maintaining memories and cognitive ability of the subject. However these entities lose all self identity and are observed to have a collective conscious and can communicate via unknown means over long distance. SCP-XXXX-2 entities are hostile to Foundation personnel and will attempt to subdue them in order to bring them to SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-2 entities are a species of what it refers to as the Rogons and is attempting to reestablish its civilization using humanity as a means of reproduction [See interview log 03-1].

At the back of the chamber are five small 5 m³ cubes which are shielded from radiation with carbon-steel-lead alloy plating. Tubes feed into the cubes, connecting to the two machines behind SCP-XXXX-1. Four out of the five cubes have been opened, exposing a small chamber. In the fifth cube an entity similar to SCP-XXXX-2 can be viewed through a small window. This entity appears to be held in a state of suspended animation. The tubes connecting the fith cube to the machines are attached to the entities body. This entity has been designated SCP-XXXX-3 as it exhibits different characteristics from other SCP-XXXX-2 entities and is much more advanced in age. SCP-XXXX-3's is a humanoid creature whose DNA is a mixture of human and Motacilla flava pygmaea. These cubes are advance stasis chambers that slow the aging process of SCP-XXXX-2 entities but still allow them to connect to the collective consciousness.

This site was brought to the Foundation's attention when an instance of SCP-XXXX-2 was discovered in the town of ███████████ in the ████████ region of Egypt. It was reported to local authorities when a young boy was kidnapped by the creature and Foundation agents were notified. The entity was tracked back to SCP-XXXX and Foundation agents locked down the area. Foundation agents were unable to save the child before he was converted into an instance of SCP-XXXX-2. All other instances of SCP-XXXX-2 within SCP-XXXX were neutralized or captured. Class X amnestics were administered to the residents of ████████.

Addendum-SCP-XXXX-1: When first discovered, SCP-XXXX was recently part of a dig site, headed by the University of ███████████. All equipment, and staff tents for said dig were still present. Following the neutralization of all SCP-XXXX-2 entities found at the site, an audio recorder belonging to American Egyptologist Samantha Wilder was found on the body of a male SCP-XXXX-2 entity. The audio files recovered from the device contain information about the original dig that opened SCP-XXXX.

Have to have Walter catalog this, at least the lack of artifacts makes the cataloging process a bit easier for both of us.

Screaming stops followed by inaudible mumbling. This continues for twenty minutes. The footsteps begin echoing far less. Wiring mechanical parts fade in. A loud grunt and the recorder clatters to the ground.
Samantha:What the heck is this place? What are you going to do to me?
Struggling becomes fainter. the recorder is picked up. Struggling gets louder. six metal clangs are heard one after the other.
Samantha:What are you doing to me? Get me out of this chair please.
A loud wiring. spassiming and choaking can be heard. Lasts for about 20 seconds and is followed by a loud saw.A wet splash can be heard. Sound of a mechanical whirring for three minutes. The sound of flesh and bones contorting for five minutes. a loud metal clangs and footsteps descend a set of stairs.

Foundation agents were unable to locate any instances of SCP-XXXX-2 that is a genetic match of Samantha Wilder. A total of 15 people are still unaccounted for from the original dig team. Five of the team members have been identified from the terminated SCP-XXXX-2 instances including Doctoral student Walter Smith and Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities security officer Mohammad Mahmoud. Evidence seems to support the fact that Samantha Wilder was transformed into an instance of SCP-XXXX-2 and has been designated POI-XXXX.
