Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4236 is to be kept in a 3 meter by 3 meter by 3 meter containment cell. Once a month, one Class-D personnel is to consume one instance of SCP-4236-1.
The resulting instance of SCP-4236 is to be incinerated. Should a new instance of SCP-4236 be discovered, it should be destroyed immediately via incineration. Personnel are not to interact with SCP-4236-2, and are not to remove instances of SCP-4236-1 from SCP-4236, except in testing. Violation of these procedures may be punishable by termination.

Description: SCP-4236 is a bag of Tyrell's Sea Salt and Cider Vinegar potato chips. SCP-4236 is filled with instances of SCP-4236-1. SCP-4236 will “refill” once out of sight, once every 24 hours, with the exact same number of SCP-4236-1 instances being produced, although these new instances do not have the same appearance as the removed instances. There seems to be no pattern of which SCP-4236-1 instances appear. SCP-4236-1 appear to be non-anomalous potato chips. However, if an instance of SCP-4236-1 is not in physical contact with SCP-4236 or any live animal, SCP-4236-1 will melt any substance that comes into contact with SCP-4236-1. No substance seems to be capable of stopping the damaging effects of SCP-4236-1, besides SCP-4236, or a live animal. Attempts to contain instances of SCP-4236-1 using plant matter or the skin of deceased animals have failed.

Upon sighting SCP-4236, individuals will have an increased desire to consume SCP-4236-1, even if the individual in question had a profound dislike for sea salt and vinegar potato chips, potato chips, or junk food in general, showing that SCP-4236 has moderate psychological properties. These properties are capable of influencing any living animal, as testing has shown that even mice and other rodents are susceptible to SCP-4236’s influence¹
Upon consumption of SCP-4236-1, the individual that consumed SCP-4236 will feel satisfied, and experience an increase in positive emotions. Testing has shown that SCP-4236-1 contains enough calories and nutrients to sustain and individual for 24 hours. It appears that, SCP-4236-1 alters its composition for each individual that consumes a SCP-4236-1 instance. How SCP-4236-1 manages to do this is currently unknown.

After a 24 hour period, individuals will begin to experience symptoms similar to that of appendicitis, and other infections and malfunctions of internal organs. After one hour, the affected individual(s) will appear to be deceased. However, an autopsy revealed that the bodily cavity of the deceased individual was in fact empty, will all organs and vital organs being replaced with an instance of SCP-4236. It should be noted that, despite the loss of all contents of the abdominal cavity, the body still retains its structure, with no sign of deflation, except when opened. No additional changes were made to the newly recovered instance of SCP-4236, aside from SCP-4236-2 being replaced with the individual who consumed SCP-4236-1, designated SCP-4236-2-1

SCP-4236-2 is the humanoid entity residing on the front side of SCP-4236. SCP-4236-2 is capable of speech, typically inviting individuals to consume an instance of SCP-4236-1. SCP-4236-2 speaks in a strong British accent, and can speak in other languages, though it will retain its strong accent while doing this. Despite the accent, pronunciation-based languages are still understandable, implying that SCP-4236-2 possesses a telepathic ability, the extent of which is not fully known. SCP-4236-2 is capable of influencing individuals to invite others to consume SCP-4236-1, usually through persuasive language, though SCP-4236-2 is suspected to possess a potent ability to manipulate perception, similar to SCP-1504.

The SCP-4236-2-1 instance is capable of speech, and fully aware of its constant state. However, SCP-4236-2-1 is only able to retain the majority of its personality if the individual, prior to becoming an instance of SCP-4236-2-1, possessed a strong resistance to SCP-4236-1 and -2’s psychological properties. Otherwise, the instance of SCP-4236-2-1 will continue to request that any individuals in SCP-4236-2-1 ‘s line of sight to consume SCP-4236-1. No method of reversing this effect has been discovered.

Addendum: SCP-4236 was originally classified as Safe upon recovery. However, it was discovered that, should no individuals consume at least 1 instance of SCP-4236-1 within the typical time period of a month², instances of SCP-4236-1 will manifest within a 20 meter radius around SCP-4236. Containment procedures have been updated as follows, and SCP-4236 has been reclassified as Euclid.
