Item #: SCP-4269

Object class: Euclid

Special Containment procedures:

SCP-4269 has been placed in a stadium that was built by the foundation and named Site-████. The stadium in ██████, Louisiana was built on a small island in the Mississippi River Delta.

SCP-4269 is contained in the center of the stadium on a large, solid carbon rod. This rod runs through the center of SCP-4269.

SCP-4269 is capable of moving it's own container. SCP-4269 has broken it's container before by smashing it on the floor.

Foundation members are required in the stadium at all times. If SCP-4269 is seen attempting to break it's container, a researcher is required to slide it back up the pole.

The site is monitored 24/7 and guards are permitted to kill any animal attempting to enter.

Description:

SCP-4269 is inside a small mason jar. the mason jar has no apparent damage and appears brand new. a very thin residue lines the inside of the jar. This substance is completely clear and odorless. The only thing out of the ordinary about the residue is that staring at it for over 43 seconds can cause temporary blindness.

When the jar is opened, the residue will attach to whatever opened the jar and emit a loud noise many have compared to the Emergency Alert System. It is still unknown what SCP-4269 does while attached to the thing that opened the jar. When SCP-4269 detaches itself from whatever opened it's container, that person begins to show symptoms of paranoid schizophrenia.

SCP-4269 will try to find any sealed pockets of air to inhabit. The current container it is in is the 8th.

Incident 4269:

The first container was a bottle of moonshine. The company that produced it noticed SCP-4269 after creating the bottle on ██/██/199█. An employee by the name of Greg K████, opened the bottle to inspect the residue. He began to go to a therapist regularly. He told his therapist that after the incident, he heard voices. Most of the time, the voices mocked him over anything he did. However, the voices would occasionally try to comfort him. On his final visit, he told the therapist that the voices told him non-stop to kill something. The next day, a pile of ashes were found in his apartment. These ashes were confiscated by the foundation and now reside at Site-████.
