Item #: SCP-4240

Object Class: Euclid Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4240 is to be contained in a containment chamber measuring 10 x 10 x 10 meters. A steel or tungsten box measuring 4 meters wide and tall by 2 meters deep. SCP-4240 is to be placed within this box at all times except while under the supervision of a researcher or D-Class Test Subject. SCP-4240 must not be exposed to injured subjects or subjects suffering from a terminal illness. Researchers who wish to test upon SCP-4240 must first seek clearances from the Site Manager or Senior Researcher of that site. It is also advised to have medical staff on stand by when testing with SCP-4240.

Description: SCP-4240 is a 14 karat gold necklace with small diamond gemstones along the chain. It weighs approximately 30 grams and has a chain length of 40 centimeters. SCP-4240 is not to be worn by injured or dying individuals as it will multiply the effects of their injury or disease by a random value each time it is placed around the individuals neck. Further testing is required to determine how the value of multiplication is chosen.

However, it is possible for SCP-4240 to decrease the individuals injury or disease, and has been recording curing a subject of his brain cancer, and healing a broken tibia in six (6) hours.
This effect is not guaranteed and is not to be relied on unless in desperate situations. Staff are advised not to use this as a "miracle fix-all" for every illness or injury they come across while working.

SCP-4240's ability to heal subjects should be tested upon further, and we should also look into the categories of people that it has healed in the past to find a common link between them. -Junior Researcher Samuel Irwin.

This is not advised as of now, and staff discovered testing these values will be reprimanded by the Chief of Security. -Agent Olson

Addendum 1.3.2038: Data analysis has shown that SCP-4240 has healed subjects that are loyal to the cause of the Foundation and that are cooperative during testing. O5 Command has moved to continue testing with sympathetic D-Class Test Subjects.
