Special containment procedures:
SCP 111 is contained in a 50cm x 50cm x 50cm sound-proof glass box with a reinforced metal frame. The case has a 30cm metal door which is to be kept locked whenever SCP 111 is inside. SCP 111 should always be in the case when not under direct study.
NOTE: During study, ALL NON D-CLASS PERSONNEL, or D-Class personnel not specified as participants are to wear ear-plugs throughout the experimentation process. Communication should be done through keyboard and tablets.
Origin
SCP 111 was found in a Denny's parking lot in (REDACTED) on (REDACTED)
Description:
SCP 111 appears to be a silver iPhone 4. The case is lightly scratched (fingernails?) and the camera is broken. When the battery of SCP 111 is charged, it can be used normally as a phone for calling, receiving calls, or sending SMSs. (not for taking pictures however, see above) The object will behave as any other IPhone 4. However the phone cannot be charged by normal means. Connecting the power cord to the phone and an outlet has no effect on the phone’s battery life, which will decrease normally as the phone is used.
When SCP 111’s battery charge reaches between 13% - 11%, the phone will receive a call from phone number (REDACTED). Anyone within a 1,5 meter radius will be compelled to reach for and answer the phone. The ensuing scramble has been noted to lead to violence as witnesses and subjects all vie for SCP 111.
From the moment that SCP 111 is answered, there is a 15 second period of time that cannot be accounted for. All witnesses (including the subjects that answer SCP 111) have no memory of what happens during that 15-second timeframe. All attempts to record during this period have also been rendered unviewable due to (magnetic radiation?).
The only noticeable change in the room when witnesses regain their memories is that the phone is now fully charged and can be used again without ill effects.
Of particular note, the person who answers SCP 111, without fail, dies within 2 weeks of the call. This seems to be the case regardless of what steps are taken to isolate or protect the subject. To date, of the two scientists, thirty-five D-Classes, and one security class that have answered SCP 111 (either through controlled experiments or observed accident) have met their ends in the following way:
| Heart Attack (within one week) | 9 instances |
| Heart Attack (within two weeks) | 6 instances |
| Suicide | 6 instances |
| Accident | 12 instances |
| Unexplained | 4 instances |
| (REDACTED) | 1 instance |
Further study is recommended as soon as we find suitable replacements for Doctors Kowalski and Smith.
