Item #: SCP-1003
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: [SCP-1003 is contained within an one cubic foot, state of the art, pressure sensitive, plexiglass chamber. This chamber is placed upon a pressure sensitive, three foot tall concrete pedestal. This chamber is secured
in an airtight, vacuum vault within Site 77. The interior walls of the vault are lined with three inches of titanium and three feet of lead, in addition to standard SCP containment cell parameters.]
Description: [SCP-1003 at first look appears to be a normal, red, plastic bowl. SCP-1003 is 4.500019 inches in height, and is 5.75 inches across at its upper rim, tapering to 3.001 inches across at its base. SCP-1003 has no designs on any of its smooth surface. SCP-1003 is composed of what appears to be 2.1 millimeters thick plastic, but attempts at extracting samples from SCP-1003 have not been successful. ]
Addendum 1: [ SCP Foundation Site 77 personel were monitoring regional law enforcement, fire rescue, and paramedic radio frequencies during 11/17/2020 standard operations. Personel intercepted a transmission detailing a call from a residential location. The transmission explained a child had stuck its hand into a bowl, but when the child had withdrew the hand, it was bruised, bloody and mangled. Personel noted the caller, claiming to be the child's legal guardian, was hysterical and claimed the child had bruises matching the pattern of a three fingered hand. Personel alerted Site 77 Command of a possible SCP event.
Site 77 Command, upon reviewing the transmissions, dispatched MTF 77-303 "Graveyard" with orders to ensure all eyewitnesses, including civilian emergency responders, are placed into Foundation custody. MTF 77-303 was issued several unmarked vans and sedation equipment to ensure the task was completed.
Upon arrival to the coordinates intercepted from civilian transmissions, MTF 77-303 reported the location to be a three mile, residential area to the east of Pawnee, Oklahoma. MTF 77-303 reported there was a large presence of civilian emergency responders. MTF 77-303 established a perimeter around the residental area. Personel of MTF 77-303 made contact with civilian emergency responders and determined dangerous levels of civilians had become aware of a SCP event.
MTF 77-303 requested Site 77 Command to authorize a mass sedation and amnesia agent distribution to contain the civilian situation. Site 77 Command granted the authorization and MTF 77-303 dawned their level two chemical protection suits and activated the Mk9 MASaAG dispersal system. The Mk9 MASaAG dispersal system rendered a five mile radius of successful sedation within 11 minutes and 51 seconds.
Upon successful sedation of all civilians,
MTF 77-303 secured a perimeter around the residential structure from which the transmissions originated. A portion of MTF 77-303 personel were tasked by the team leader to remove civilians from around the structure before entry was made. MTF 77-303 then entered the structure and confirmed the presence of two civilian law enforcement personnel, three civilian paramedic personnel, a female civilian in her late thirties, and a male child around two years old. MTF 77-303 observed the civilians were sedated and the child's right hand had been wrapped in medical gauze, but was still bleeding profusely.
On the ground near the child MTF 77-303 observed a red, plastic bowl. Tests for radiation, reality warpers, and any other field testable abnormalities were conducted on the bowl by the team leader as other MTF 77-303 personel searched the rest of the structure. The structure was deemed secure and MTF 77-303 took the bowl, child, and female into Foundation custody, after confirming nothing was inside the bowl and no abnormalities were detected.
MTF 77-303 then requested orders from Site 77 Command as to what to do with the other civilians. Site 77 Command ordered MTF 77-303 to secure the bowl, child, and female within Site 77. Site 77 Command then dispatched a MCG 77-1 to deactivate the Mk9 MASaAG dispersal system and replace all civilian memories of the day. The residential structure was then leveled and removed from record.
Site 77 staff attempted to bring the child out of sedation, but the child became deceased before gaining consciousness. Site 77 medical personel deemed the cause of death to be blood poisoning due to necrosis and acute brain failure.
Site 77 staff successfully brought the female out of sedation. The female was interviewed over the span of a week, but the female could only recall the child reaching into the bowl, which was empty, seeing fear in the child's eyes, and seeing the child pull its mangled hand from the bowl. The female was constantly in hysteria and made several demands to see the child. The female repeatedly claimed to not know the origin of the bowl.
The female was then released from Foundation custody after receiving total life amnesia.
The bowl was designated as SCP-1003 by Site 77 Command. ]
Addendum 2 [ Site 77 staff ran tests involving D Class personel and SCP-1003. The tests involved a 30 year old, male D Class personel (referred to as Subject 1) who was to enter the SCP-1003 containment cell alone, report the contents of SCP-1003, and reach his hand into SCP-1003 until ordered to remove it.
Subject 1 successfully was ushered into SCP-1003's cell by C class personel and secured within. Subject 1 was ordered by Site 77 staff over intercom to look into the bowl and advise what he saw. Subject 1 reported SCP-1003 was empty. Site 77 staff remotely opened SCP-1003's chamber and ordered Subject 1 to place his right hand into SCP-1003 and not to remove it until ordered. Subject 1 refused to follow the order. Site 77 staff advised Subject 1 he would be terminated if he refused. Subject 1 refused again, but after Site 77 staff repeated the order to place his hand into SCP-1003, Subject 1 slowly complied. After three minutes, Site 77 staff ordered Subject 1 to report how he felt. Subject 1 reported only being scared. Site 77 staff had Subject 1 confirm no feelings of pain and no visual changes within SCP-1003. Site 77 staff ordered Subject 1 to forcefully press his hand against the inside of SCP-1003. Site 77 staff reminded Subject 1 of termination upon refusal. Subject 1 then pressed against the inside of SCP-1003 for three minutes. Site 77 staff asked Subject 1 to report again, but received the same results. Subject 1 was ordered to remove his hand from SCP-1003 and Site 77 staff remotely closed SCP-1003's chamber. Site 77 staff had Subject 1 removed from the cell and quarantined.
Site 77 staff evaluated Subject 1's hand for a week, but found no abnormalities.
Site 77 staff secured Subject 1 inside SCP-1003's cell and remotely opened SCP-1003's chamber. Site 77 staff ordered Subject 1 to place his face into SCP-1003, reminding Subject 1 he would be terminated if he refused. Subject 1 refused multiple times and after multiple reminders of impending termination. Site 77 staff remotely closed SCP-1003's chamber and Subject 1 was removed from SCP-1003's cell. Subject 1 was terminated immediately after. ]
Addendum 3 [ Site 77 staff conducted a test involving a 5 year old, male child (referred to as Subject 2) retrieved from REDACTED and secured him inside SCP-1003's cell. Site 77 staff ordered Subject 2 to look inside SCP-1003. Subject 2 reported seeing "colors" and "water". Site 77 staff ordered Subject 2 to reach into SCP-1003. Subject 2 complied. Subject 2 was seemingly pulled into SCP-1003 up to his shoulder. Site 77 staff observed blood pooling on the floor of the cell. Subject 2 collapsed to the floor of the cell, without his right arm. Site 77 staff observed Subject 2 being torn apart as he lay on the floor of the cell.
Site 77 staff could not observe any abnormalities within the cell to cause such an event. Site 77 staff could not see anything inside SCP-1003 or anything attacking Subject 2. Site 77 staff remotely closed SCP-1003's chamber and remotely activated the cell vacuum airlock, removing all air from the cell. Subject 2 continued to be eviscerated after all air had been removed from the cell for 11 minutes and 21 seconds.
Site 77 staff monitored the cell for a month, during which no activity occurred. Site 77 staff had several D class personel enter the cell over a span of a month and observed no anomalies. ]
