Item #: SCP-4873

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: To prevent psychological harm, SCP-4873 must be locked in a 20'x20' room with at least 12 to 24 inches of soundproof foam surrounding every inch of the room. This soundproof foam must be replaced every 45-60 days.

Description: SCP-4873 is a '99 Fender American Standard Telecaster, with .10-.50 guage Ernie Ball Skinny Top Heavy Bottom strings, a maple neck, and an aged olympic white finish. When in a 10' radius from SCP-4873, it begins to play itself. The songs played vary from person to person, with multiple test subjects documenting different songs, from Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama", to Infant Annihilator's "Unholy Gravebirth". Once the song is over, it begins again, but this time a step higher in pitch, and about 10% faster in speed. Once the second time is over, the third time wields a two step increase in pitch and a 20% increase in speed. This cycle seemingly never ends. When contact is broken with SCP-4873, test subjects reported that the cycle reversed until the songs returned to their normal pitch and speed, in which they finally halted.

Side Effects: Despite the songs played, every test subject reported feelings of comfort, seemingly oblivious to the damage done to their bodies after the first 5 runs of the song they were listening to. D-1994 lost 25% of his hearing after demanding to stay with SCP-4873 for "just a little bit longer". D-1995 started headbanging to "Panama" by Van Halen, with his headbanging increasing with the song's speed. He eventually suffered whiplash and damaged his neck, as well as 19% hearing loss. D-1996 became aggresive towards personnel after testing was over, refusing to leave SCP-4873. After fighting with personnel for over 13 minutes, he was delivered amnestics. He suffered a 65% hearing loss.
