Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be housed in a standard animal containment cell with a standard airlock entrance. SCP-XXXX is only allowed to operate electronic devices under the supervision of research personnel.

One instance of SCP-XXXX-01 is to be held in a safe, seperated from the cell housing SCP-XXXX. The instance of SCP-XXXX-01 is not to be connected to the internet under any circumstances.

No personnel are allowed to play SCP-XXXX-01 outside of testing, which must be approved by at least 2 level 3 personnel.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a Brown Spider Monkey (Ateles hybridus), about 50cm tall. SCP-XXXX has displayed increased intelligence, with an extreme proficiency with computers and programming. Any computer that SCP-XXXX interacts with will soon become infected with SCP-XXXX-01.

SCP-XXXX-01 manifests as a computer virus posing as an online clicker game named "The Banana Monkey Game." SCP-XXXX-01 completely dominates the host computer, locking it down where the only SCP-XXXX-01 is able to be run. When a user attempts to unpower the computer infected with SCP-XXXX-01, the computer does not power off, and remains working indefinitely. Analysis of one instance of a neutralized computer did not show how it remained powered despite lack of electrical connection.

The interface of SCP-XXXX-01 shows a cartoon of a banana, which a user can click on, underneath which is shown the number of times the user has clicked the banana. On the far right of the interface is a leader-board, at the top of which is the screen-name "Screecher," and an avatar depicting SCP-XXXX. As of ██/██/████, "Screecher" has 5,273,187 bananas, growing at a rate of 524 per hour. The growth rate varies with physical distance between SCP-XXXX and any instance of SCP-XXXX-01, raising as high as 5,722 bananas per hour. In second place is "████," with a static 9327 bananas, and in third is "██████," with a static 5577 bananas. The rest of the leaderboard is hidden. It is unknown how SCP-XXXX is still adding to his banana score, as SCP-XXXX has been kept from all computers outside of testing.

When a person attempts to play SCP-XXXX-01, the subject refuses to stop playing, even for basic biological needs. Most subjects expire within 4 days, usually of dehydration or starvation. In addition, if the computer infected is connected to the internet, SCP-XXXX-01 will attempt to send itself to every other computer listed in the contacts of the host computer, usually via email. If the email is opened by a user on the targeted computer, SCP-XXXX-01 instantly takes hold and installs itself, locking down the computer in the process.

SCP-XXXX was discovered by Foundation agents in ████ zoo, after SCP-XXXX-01 infected all of the computers in the zoo's intranet. Agents neutralized all infected computers and relocated SCP-XXXX to Foundation Custody. The instance of SCP-XXXX-01 in Foundation custody was created during testing with SCP-XXXX (See Expiriment Log XXXX-073a).
