Item #: SCP-4613

Classification: Euclid Keter-provisional

Special Containment Procedures: Agents embedded in West Virginia's police agencies [?] are to search through missing person reports. Should agents find out of disappearances likely related to SCP-4613 they are to report them to head researcher Jamie Summer to be investigated and, if considered necessary, use cover story 34-B "missing hitch-hiker". Due to the limited amount of new instances as well as the nature of the anomaly and those affected, no further action is considered necessary. Following incident 4613-7 all SCP 4613-3 subject's external communications are to be recorded and reviewed for links to GoI-4613-1. Should such a link be found, the head researcher is allowed to use any means she deems necessary to neutralise the threat.

Description: SCP-4613 is a set of anomalous unpaved roads which appear in the state of West Virginia. The roads [SCP-4613-1] are not listed on any maps, GPS service or similar databases, disappearing or changing location when not being directly observed or driven on.
SCP-4613-1 instances have only manifested on West Virginia state land, away from cities and other areas with dense road traffic, instead branching off of almost empty stretches of road into thick forest cover.

After appearing, SCP-4613-1 "chooses" a specific vehicle [1] and influences its passengers by making them feel disoriented and lost, which usually leads to the driver following the road. SCP-4613-1 seems to prefer those who are poorer, more isolated or members of GoI-4613-1.

SCP-4613-1 will then lead them to a house (SCP-4613-2). Testing has shown that 4613-2 instances adapt to the tastes and desires of its occupants, SCP-4613-3, from the general shape and amenities of the house to even the landscape or the generation of anomalous weather phenomenon isolated to it. For a list of noteworthy accommodations please see document 4613-1 below.

Following their arrival, one of the subjects, designated as the new owner of the home, will retrieve, either from their car, pockets or even outside the home a stack of ownership papers alongside a key indicating them that they had previously purchased, inherited or otherwise obtained the house. While subjects may at first express doubts at the veracity of these papers, they most often either conclude that they simply don't remember the details of the transaction or do not care. They will be persuaded it took place due to the perceived accuracy of the documents, which does contain the subject's full name, date of birth and ████████. The documents show the signature of both the new homeowner as well as a Mr Andrew Krach.

The SCP-4613-1 instance will then serve as a way to get to other buildings similar in nature to SCP-4613-2 such as a workplace, school, or general store should the subject need their services.
The only known way to go to the instance from the outside world at this point is to enter the building's address in a GPS service, which will give out a nonsensical-seeming path which would realistically lead nowhere but will end at an instance of SCP-4613-1 leading to the address.
