Item #: SCP-5127

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5127 is to be held in a 3 m x 3 m x 3 m, airtight cube chamber, with a 30 cm thick, bitumen wall, floor, and ceiling. Two (2) containment areas are too be made, possibly more as a reserve, due to SCP-5127’s tendency to break the containment area. The containment chamber must be checked weekly for any signs of damage and if there are signs of damage, SCP-5127 is to be moved to a second chamber while the first chamber is repaired. There is to be one (1) camera within the containment chamber and is to be coated in a 1 cm thick layer of bitumen, except for on the lens. When transporting SCP-5127 to another containment chamber, all personal must leave both the current chamber, and the replacement chamber within a larger airtight room until SCP-5127 has moved itself.

Description: SCP-5127, is a small, lizard like creature, resembling the Chlamydosaurus kingii (Frill-necked lizard), and measures between 10 cm to 2 m. It has a thorny coat both on the back and on the ‘fan of the neck’ measuring at approximately 6 mm with the thorns on the ‘fan of the neck’ having small holes.

SCP-5127, is observed to burrow underground through any surface currently made, weather it is natural or artificial, whenever it is threatened by a larger organism. SCP Foundation scientists have found that SCP-5127 is not able to break through bitumen. After a containment breach, SCP-5127 fled out onto a bitumen road, and has been known to immediately burrow when threatened, but instead, SCP-5127 ran to the side of the bitumen road and then burrowed. Experiments were done and a new containment chamber was made for SCP-5127. If SCP-5127 burrows and encounters another organism during or after it has finished burrowing, then it will emit a gas.

SCP-5127’s main way of fighting off any organism or hostile item when unable to escape or while burrowing, is through a toxic chemical gas emitted from the ‘fan of the neck’. The gas is visible to the human eye and if seen by anyone is to be reported immediately. The gas will proceed to ignite when the gas is on the verge of disappearing. This is what makes SCP-5127 dangerous when not in containment as the gas can spread many kilometres before igniting. The gas can last up to three (3) hours before igniting.

In an incident, SCP-5127-A, SCP-5127 breached containment on 28/September/████ and proceeded to roam Site-██ for several hours. It was later found in a D-Class cell and proceeded to burrow under the bed in the cell and then encountered a maintenance worker working within the maintenance tunnels of Site-██. It then began emitting the toxic gas and the maintenance worker died due to inhalation of the gas. The gas then spread through the maintenance tunnels and then through the vents of the Site, resulting in half of the Site to burn, along with anyone in it. SCP-5127 was then found outside, along with several other SCP’s and was sent to Site-██ to be kept in containment.
As of 23/August/████, Dr. ██████ has been assigned to monitor SCP-5127.
