Where did it come from?

The three Originals sat quietly as they had for many eons. All that was and is was made by them. In their youth it was exciting and fantastic, the things they made, the things their creations made, but now it had become boring and redundant. Nothing new was made and nothing old was worth giving attention to. So, now they just sat in a quiet boredom.

The First cleared his throat.

The Second, thinking the First might have something to say looked towards him, but nothing was said and they sat in silence. As their eyes began to drift away from each other, the Second noticed something in the far distance. A blue dot full of life and power.

"What's that?" He asked.

The Third look over, "It is clearly a blue dot."

The second snapped back, "I know that, but where did it come from? Did you make it?"

The Third shook his head, "My memory is long and that is new. I would remember having created such a thing," he turned to the First, "Did you create it?"

The First was quiet for a moment, "No, no, it does not bear my mark or handy work, the dot is too small and the creatures too weak," looking to the Second, "Perhaps you made it."

"If I had made it, I would know what it is and wouldn't ask who made it," the Second snapped.

"Perhaps it was Knowledge or Instinct that made it," the Third gazed off.

The First made a face and thought some more, "No, no, Knowledge and Instinct have the power to guide and change but not to create."

The Second was puzzled, "Could Greed or Hate or even Death have created it?"

Third let out an exhausted sigh, "What a stupid question, they have less power than Knowledge and Instinct."

"Then who made it?" the Second asked again.

The Third peered into the void, "Perhaps He made it."

The First peered closer at the tiny blue dot, "No, no, He can create but it's always twisted and malformed, this is simple but with potential rivaling anything else."

The Second thought for a moment, stuck on this puzzle "That rules out Wisdom and Chance, and Chaos and Order. They would never work together."

"Perhaps we should take a closer look?" the First stood for the first time in many eons.

With the three in agreement they moved through the voids and dimensions until they could see everything about this blue dot and it's creatures. What they saw both amused and confused them.

The Second looked over the creatures taking notice, "That creature has His mark, see He did make it."

The Third also had been looking them over, "This one has Instincts mark, so she clearly must have made it."

The First looked over it all, "No, no, look closer, everything is marked by something, there is no pattern here."

"Could our lessers have come together to make this?"

"No, no, I see everything the lessers do, they did not create this."

"Then where did it come from?" the Second asked again.

The Third's stomach sank, "I cannot see their past or future, why?"

"Interesting," the First looked closer, "how could something like this happen?"

"Without our power, it couldn't."

"And yet here it is, and with so much potential. More than I have seen in even our most ancient of creations."

"This is wrong, nothing should be able to create itself!"

"Should we destroy it then? Who knows what it is or will become," asked the Second.

The First considered this, "No, no, this is unique in all of Everything, to destroy it would be a failure on our part."

The Third threw up his hands, "Then what do we do?"

"For now we will watch and wait and see, maybe their potential will guide them beyond even us, or perhaps simply doom them to the void."

"I wish the best for these things, our cousins in creation," the Second smiled while looking them over, "Look there that one is creating right now!"

This somehow inspired and unsettled the Third, "It is interesting, is this how we began?"

"I can no longer remember, but I would like to help them along," said the First

"Me too," exclaimed the Second.

After a thought, the Third conceded, "I will help as well."

The First rose officially, "It is decided then, I will guide them from secret, changing the dot to make it more comfortable and allowing them to reach beyond."

The Second smiled, "Then I will walk among them. I'll live as one of them and impart any teachings they will take."

"Very well, then I will guide their minds with whispers and dreams. If they listen then greatness surely awaits them." The Third finally giving in to his brothers.

"Then so it shall be!" The Originals said in unity.

And from that day on the Originals found little cause for boredom. They paid very close attention to this strange uncreated, unknown, blue dot.

And soon others did as well.
