Is Wisdom Useful?

Instinct and Knowledge had never gotten along. Since the time of their creation they had done nothing but bicker and fight. In fact the only thing that they could ever agree on was Wisdom, their child, was nothing more than a disappointment.

Wisdom had never contributed anything to the Everything. The Everything just didn't feel like a place where he belonged.

At a certain time, in a certain place, while his parents Knowledge and Instinct were no doubt arguing; Wisdom noticed something.

The Originals had moved. This was odd as the Originals hadn't moved since long before his creation, but none-the-less they moved. Wisdom knew that to involve himself with the Originals was a bad idea, but something inside of him drove him to follow.

Keeping his distance, Wisdom saw the Originals come to a small planet. They appeared to be having an argument of sorts.

Wisdom tried to ascertain what they argued over, but they were old, much older than himself and he couldn't understand.

However, he did suspect the argument was over this blue planet with these creatures on it.

Such curious creatures drew his attention. As he watched them, they created, destroyed, loved, hated, died, and we're born. Such a wonder.

Wisdom thought that this was perhaps a new creation of the Originals, he could see the marks of all the Originals creations on these creatures.

Then Wisdom noticed that the Originals had stopped discussing and had turned to him. He knew he couldn't hide from their presence but had hoped they would be too distracted to notice him.

The Three began to debate once more and when they finished they looked to wisdom. They parted their paths and beckoned him to the planet.

Such wondrous things he could see, now that he was closer. Truly this must be the Originals masterpiece. Knowing he was young and did not wish the wrath of the Originals, he took in all he could and began to turn away.

Upon looking back he saw the Three standing before him blocking his path. He still couldn't understand them, but something inside him knew they wanted him to help with this creation.

Wisdom's excitement grew and he turned back to the world looking to see what he could do, how he could be of use for the first time.

That's when the Three stood beside him. Just the act of standing with the Originals stole his breath.

And for the first time Wisdom heard them speak and could understand them, as they spoke as One, "Young one, you will help us make this dot and these creatures grow, their paths shall not only be shaped by us but you as well."

Stammering, Wisdom responded, "What would you have me do?"

"Be wise."

'Be wise,' Wisdom thought, 'I am wise. I am Wisdom, the most useless thing in Everything."

"No the greatest in Everything, that has potential," the Three spoke.

Wisdom thought himself a fool, of course they knew his thoughts. They knew everything.

"You will help the creature's with your nature, grow them, guide them, and when we call upon you, you will come to serve us."

"YES! Yes, great ones! Of course! I shall start right away!" Looking down Wisdom saw a young creature, much like himself and raced down to guide him.
