Item #: SCP-3231
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3231 is to be contained in a 9'x9'x9' cell with reinforced one-way windows and a heavy-duty vault door. This door is not to be opened except to feed 3231 one pig or other livestock. To prevent 3231 from learning its containment procedures, feedings are to take place at random intervals. One D-class must be on hand at all times to serve as bait if 3231 escapes. Under no circumstances are guards to engage 3231 at close range, even in the event of a containment breach. If a breach occurs, 3231 can be neutralized via beanbag rounds as it attempts to consume the D-class. Due to their unknown properties, any worms that breach containment are to be immediately incinerated via flamethrowers and disposed of.
One of the 3231 concept drawings taken from D███'s apartment.
Description: SCP-3231 is a highly adaptable occult entity vaguely resembling a common hairless cat, but with various arthropod and worm-like elements. Its most distinctive feature is a 6-eyed white mask bearing an unknown symbol, believed to be of occult origin. The mask is made of an unknown material resembling smooth stone, but due to its indestructible nature any form of material testing is impossible.
Two insectoid mandibles form the lower "jaw" of 3231, and this jaw seems to be connected to a large worm protruding from the back of the creature's head. Countless smaller worms take up the rest of the available space on the back of the head, and appear to be fastened to the mask by unknown means.
The rest of 3231's body appears to be that of a hairless feline, but with no wrinkles of any kind. The skin is grey and vaguely reminiscent of a waterlogged corpse in terms of texture. 3231 lacks a tail, instead possessing another large worm latched onto the tailbase.
SCP-3231 is highly intelligent and dangerous, seeming to delight in tormenting humans. It will contort its body in various ways, making strange vocalizations in an attempt to scare its target. If the target does not react to this disturbing display, 3231 will turn violent, opening its "mouth" and launching worms at the target. These worms match no known species, and all possess a mouth filled with sharp teeth and two large mandibles. The worms secrete a powerful stimulant that intensifies pain responses in the victim, while also sapping energy from the victim until they finally collapse.
Once a target collapses, 3231 will surround them with a ring of worms, before chanting in a disembodied voice and releasing a blinding red glow from its maw. The worms form a complete ring around the subject and begin to glow as well, as 3231 begins to draw energy from its victim. It seems 3231 feeds by draining the victim's calories, vitamins, and minerals, leaving them severely malnourished. Once 3231 is done feeding, the victim is left in a coma for several days before recovering. Victims who recover from 3231's feeding report feeling drained both emotionally and physically. While most initial feedings aren't fatal, repeated sessions will eventually result in the subject's death by starvation or dehydration.
3231's feedings are relatively tame compared to the techniques it uses to defend itself from attackers. It will crawl on virtually any flat surface, leaping in disorienting patterns around the attacker before latching onto their head and attempting to swallow it whole. Due to 3231's lack of lower jaw, attempts at this are usually successful, and eventually end in the attacker's death by suffocation. 3231 will then use its worms to detach the head and consume it whole, before retreating to a secluded area to digest.
Due to its insatiable hunger, starvation has proven to be an effective way of neutralizing 3231. It is also vulnerable to physical harm, and has difficulty draining anyone with high alcohol content in their bloodstream. While the worms can be killed with standard weapons, 3231 itself seems to regenerate over time. Crosses seem to elicit fear in 3231, so it is advised that it's guards keep at least one rosary on their person in the event of a containment breach.
Addendum: 3231 was first discovered in [REDACTED] Colorado, in the possession of D███ R███████. D███ was a known believer in the occult, with a history of violent sexual assaults and attempted murder. Examinations of D███'s apartment revealed several malformed masks similar to that of 3231, as well as various herbs and ingredients used in occult rituals. D███ burned the ritual books in his possession before Foundation personnel could collect them, but several drawings on the suspect's desk revealed what appear to be concept designs for SCP-3231. It appears D███ used his knowledge of the occult to construct an artificial "Demon" of some sort, one capable of mercilessly torturing and draining the life from its victims. The implications of this evidence is dire, and the Foundation is encouraged to be on high alert for any other manufactured Demons.
