All Known instances of {SLEEP} are currently being held at a Site-76 [REDACTED]. A total of three (3) lockboxes, each with a two-step authorization code, are to be used to sort instances of {SLEEP}-A, {SLEEP}-B, and {SLEEP}-C. Two (2) of the three (3) lockboxes are to be placed into a containment vault with no less than one (1) guard outside at all times. Personnel guarding {SLEEP} are not to be told what they are guarding. Unauthorized entry or attempted theft will be met with lethal force and immediate termination.
The third lockbox containing {SLEEP}-A is kept [REDACTED]. Access to {SLEEP} is restricted to all personnel without Level 3/{SLEEP} security clearance or written permission from the Site Director, Site Security Coordinator, and Senior Researcher.
Description: {SLEEP} is a collection of accessories. Most of which are common, but not limited, in appearance to jewellery with the notable exception of an engraving that reads ".CRT". All ".CRT" engravings vary in size but are identical in scale.
{SLEEP}, with the exception of {SLEEP}-C, removes a human subject’s need for food or sleep, with the exception of water, when in contact with the subject’s skin. A subject can still eat and sleep with no observed change or negative consequences to the subject.
All accessories are independent from each other and are divided into three subcategories based on their level of effectivity. The exact origins of {SLEEP}-A and -B are unknown. {SLEEP}-C have all been created by the Foundation.
{SLEEP} came to Foundation attention on 03/23/2005 when field researcher Anna Zeubreck refused to remove a hair clip, later identified as {SLEEP}, during [REDACTED]. Anna Zeubreck had refused to remove {SLEEP} when putting on a hazmat suit and had {SLEEP} forcefully removed from her person. Upon forceful removal of {SLEEP} by MTF Operative L███ ██████, Anna Zeubreck promptly expired. L███ ██████, still holding {SLEEP} in one hand, was placed into quarantine for precaution. During this time L███ ██████, was observed to not sleep or express hunger. Five (5) days after initial quarantine, L███ ██████ was instructed to slowly release {SLEEP} from his grip. L███ ██████ lost consciousness after following instructions and was found to show symptoms coinciding with later stages of Fatal Insomnia that became progressively better with medical care and regular sleep.
{SLEEP}-A
{SLEEP}-A is supposedly the “good one” of all {SLEEP} instances. {SLEEP}-A is supposed to allow subjects to wear and remove the instance with no adverse effects. Consumption of water is still necessary. (See Interview Log {SLEEP}-A-██)
{SLEEP}-A is suspected to be the first instance of SCP-{SLEEP}. The use of {SLEEP}-A eliminates a subject’s need for food or rest. Upon removal, subject suffers no adverse effects and returns to needing food and rest.
{SLEEP}-A is a heptagonal pendant with a perfectly symmetrical filigree design composed of a silver metal-like substance or ivory-like substance. The pendant is 4.5 cm long along all lines of symmetry and has a thickness of 3.0 mm The pendant hangs from a thin tan rope of canvas made by the owner. The canvas acts as an extension of {SLEEP}-A when the pendant is on the canvas. Removal of the pendant from the canvas rope renders the rope inert. All additional recovered instances of {SLEEP} are to be designated {SLEEP}-B.
Research on how to replicate {SLEEP}-A and/or {SLEEP}-A's anomalous abilities is still ongoing.
{SLEEP}-B
{SLEEP}-B are instances that commonly appear as, but are not limited to, common jewelry. All -B instances are metal-like in appearance but have varying textures, none of which are consistent with any known metals. {SLEEP}-B necklaces are unable to be taken apart like regular jewelry (eg, the removal of a picture from a locket). Additions to {SLEEP}-B like that of {SLEEP}-A do not display similar qualities.
{SLEEP}-B eliminates a subject’s need for food or rest for the duration that {SLEEP}-B is worn. Upon removal of {SLEEP}-B, subject experiences a sudden onset of accumulated negative effects previously thought to have been eliminated. The intensity of adverse effects experienced after removal of {SLEEP}-B seems to have a correlation to length of time {SLEEP}-B was wore. The extent of this relation and its ratio are currently unknown and under study.
As of ██/██/2006 all newly recovered {SLEEP}-B instance engravings now have “ripped-off if bought from MC&D" in addition to the typical ".CRT”. This has lead researchers to believe that all recovered {SLEEP}-B instances have been recovered in a near chronological order (See addendum {SLEEP}-B.).
{SLEEP}-C
{SLEEP}-C are all Foundation attempts of replicating {SLEEP}-B and -A for general Foundation use. All Foundation created instances of {SLEEP} are to be designated {SLEEP}-C and lack the ".CRT" engraving. {SLEEP}-C are to be created through exposure to SCP-038. Replication has been suspended indefinitely due to adverse effects of {SLEEP}-C.
{SLEEP}-C instances replicated from {SLEEP}-B are identical to their {SLEEP}-B counterpart in every way physical appearance and texture only. {SLEEP}-C instances replicated from {SLEEP}-A have variable appearances and textures. {SLEEP}-C instances replicated from {SLEEP}-A also have a 50% chance of displaying similar properties to those of {SLEEP}-A when additions are made. Of those successful additions, 20% assimilate the addition to itself after three (3) hours of exposure. How {SLEEP}-C is able to distinguish its storage container, other {SLEEP} instances, and other surfaces from purposeful additions is as of yet unknown. Sentience is not suspected.
{SLEEP}-C eliminates a subject’s need for food or rest for the duration that {SLEEP}-C is worn. {SLEEP}-C masks a subjects need for food or rest for the duration that {SLEEP}-C is worn. Subjects’ body still undergoes typical progression of sleep deprivation and starvation despite the subject being unable to feel and discern the progression. Due to subjects’ ignorance of masked reactions, subjects using {SLEEP}-C are likely expire without warning.
{SLEEP}-C instances replicated from {SLEEP}-A that have to ability to assimilate additions to itself have a ██% chance of assimilating into the subject after 18 hours of use. Once this has occurred, subject is now designated {SLEEP}-C-1. Removing {SLEEP}-C from {SLEEP}-C-1 has proven too high risk to research and medical personnel (See Experiment {SLEEP}-C.). Termination of all {SLEEP}-C-1 is advised. Once {SLEEP}-C-1 has expired or been terminated, it has a 20% chance of continuing to displaying properties of the {SLEEP}-C used. Terminated and expired {SLEEP}-C-1 instances are to be disposed of via incineration.
There are 53 [REDACTED] instances of {SLEEP}-C at the time of writing revising this report.

Addendum {SLEEP}.04: {SLEEP}-B Test Logs (2)
All test in this document were run by different research staff than that of SCP-{SLEEP} and are chronologically catalogued based on test-start date.
Test 3 - Date 06/05/2006
Subject 1: D-2065, Female, 20
Subject 2: D-1852, Male, 18
Subject 3: D-1737, Male, 44
Subject 4: D-2643, Male, 45
Procedure: Four D-Class personnel were administered a single dose (averaging at 6.2 mL) of SCP-576-1. After consumption each subject was given a 1:1 instance of {SLEEP}-B to see if it impacted SCP-576-1s anomalous properties. Subjects 2 and 3 had particularly traumatic pasts while Subjects 1 and 4 had no notable trauma in their history. Meals were provided as usual.
All subjects were instructed to go to sleep 36 hours after initial consumption. Attempts to rouse subjects were made 4.5 hours after subjects were told to sleep.
Summary of Results: Attempts to rouse subjects resulted in all subjects entering a catatonic stupor.
After an additional 5 hours, subjects 1 and 4 beagan to displayed symptoms of derealization. The removal of {SLEEP}-B from subjects 1 and 4 resulted in both subjects entering a coma.
Subjects 2 and 3 entered a vegetative state 5 hours after arousal. The removal of {SLEEP}-B from subjects 2 and 3 resulted in both subjects experiencing brian death.
Test 8 - Date 10/11/2007
Subject: 52242
Procedure: Subject is regularly exposed to SCP-3966 while in possession of {SLEEP}-B at all times. Subject's CSF and cognitive functions will be checked twice daily.
Result Summary: Seven (7) days into testing, subject's CSF contained minute traces of SCP-3966-B. Levels of 3966-B present would not change until day 34 of testing when subject reported an "annoying tingling" sensation. Subsequent CSF samples indicate a significant increase of SCP-3966-B. For the next 13 days, subject complained of tingling sensation. During this time subject was also observed to twitch and jerk with increasing frequency. Symptoms consistent with ICP were observed during the final three (3) days.
Test 17 - Date 11/25/2009
Subject: D-5892
Procedure: An instance of {SLEEP}-B is added to the examination room where an SCP-████-█ test is to be conducted. Subject will attempt to use {SLEEP}-B as a substitute to self-termination.
Result Summary: Subject awoke and located {SLEEP}-B in Examination Room ███ without issue. The moment subject attempted to use {SLEEP}-B [REDACTED], resulting in both Subject and Operator [REDACTED].
Notice: Any and all instances of {SLEEP} are no longer allowed withing the vicinity of Research Outpost ████-████.
