Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored in Weapons Locker 72 in Sub-Section 4 of Site-77. The locker should be locked with fingerprint activation, only accessible to Class 2 of above personnel. Outside of testing, SCP-XXXX should not be used unless Protocol ß-9 is initiated at the discretion of a Class 4 Security Director.
In the event another SCP-XXXX instance is discovered, Foundation agents are to be dispatched to retrieve the asset. Extra care should be made not to damage any parts of SCP-XXXX during transport.
SCP-XXXX-A is to be allowed to hunt wild game with a weapon loaded with SCP-XXXX once every two (2) months to preserve his youth. If SCP-XXXX-A exhibits any aggressive behaviour while in contact with SCP-XXXX, the subject is to be removed from SCP-XXXX and neutralised by a containment team of five (5) security officials, who are to accompany the subject at all times.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a steel ammunition box, manufactured by the Soviet Red Army from 194█ to 195█. It is of a lime green colour, with black ink markings on the side denoting the caliber of any ammunition stored, and amount of cartridges stored. The markings indicate that the box can store up to 200 7.62×54mmR rounds. These rounds are packed together in cloth bandoleers, making it practical only for use in conjunction with machine guns.
At first glance, SCP-XXXX is unremarkable. The 7.62×54mmR rounds it stores can be normally chambered into any rifle that accepts it as ammunition, and fires without any outstanding technical issues. Jamming or misfires occur at a rate of █ technical issues per ████ rounds fired. In terms of efficiency, rounds fired from SCP-XXXX are of a 7N13 armour-piercing bullet, and can attain velocities of 828 m/s (2,717 ft/s).
When the bandoleer of ammunition from SCP-XXXX is loaded onto a belt-fed machine gun that accepts SCP-XXXX's caliber, the machine gun is capable of firing perpetually unless interrupted by overheating or jamming. Even though rounds are expended and cases are ejected from the machine gun, SCP-XXXX does not seem to run out of 7.62×54mmR rounds. The amount of rounds that are stored within the container, be it before or after use, remains constant at 200 rounds. Replenishing rounds into SCP-XXXX does not seem to have any effect on its anomalous properties.
As of right now, there are 6 instances of SCP-XXXX in circulation across █ storage and reliquary facilities. SCP-XXXX's instances are listed below:
SCP-XXXX-1: Recovered in 199█ by DDR forces in East Germany. Was subsequently handed over for Foundation custody.
SCP-XXXX-2: Recovered in 199█ in [DATA EXPUNGED]. SCP-XXXX-2 differs from all other SCP-XXXX instances as it appears to be of Vietnamese make, with tin being the main material instead of steel. The effects are almost identical, but the rounds are of civilian quality.
SCP-XXXX-3: Recovered in 199█ in █████████, Vietnam by NATO forces. Was subsequently transferred to Foundation custody in 198█.
SCP-XXXX-4: Recovered in 199█ in the possession of SCP-XXXX-A.
SCP-XXXX-5: Recovered in 200█ in the ruins of ██████. Unfortunately, SCP-XXXX-5 was destroyed during transport by a Chechnyan mortar barrage before Agents were able to retrieve the asset.
SCP-XXXX-6: Recovered in 200█. It was found alongside SCP-XXXX-5, and managed to survive the mortar attack. However, its storage lid was damaged, and subsequently replaced by a plastic substitute.
SCP-XXXX-7: Recovered in 201█ in the First ██████ Machinery Plant. The property was obtained by the Foundation and converted into a storage site.
SCP-XXXX-A is a mid-aged man with Russian origin. SCP-XXXX-A has a height of 1.78m (5ft 10in), is of average muscle build, and has bright blonde hair. Identifying documents have traced his birthplace to ██████████████ in the Russian SFSR. A search of his residence, located at 32 ████████████ Street, ██████, revealed SCP-XXXX-A's former profession as a Red Army arms manufacturer during the Great Patriotic War.
SCP-XXXX-A's appearance seems to be ostensibly young, yet identifying documents have indicated that he was born in ██/██/193█. His work pass indicated that he began work in the First ██████ Machinery Plant, located in ████████, just before the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War. Still, SCP-XXXX-A shows no signs of mental or physical degradation that is consistent with age, and still retains most of the skills pertaining to his time as an armaments manufacturer.
SCP-XXXX-A came to the attention of the Foundation in ██/██/19██ after his detainment by government military forces in [DATA EXPUNGED] for violently mowing down unarmed civilians with a PKP Pecheneg machine gun in █████████, ███. At the time, SCP-XXXX-A was a member of a local paramilitary unit, sent on a mercenary mission. His actions caused a total of ██ fatalities and an additional ██ injuries, and he was subsequently placed in psychiatric hold for █ days. Analysis of on-site footage, as well as eyewitnesses, indicate that SCP-XXXX-A was able to fire the machine gun without reloading for a total of ten minutes straight before he was neutralised by [DATA EXPUNGED]. All witnesses and persons involved were given Class B amnesiacs, and SCP-XXXX was recovered and put into storage. SCP-XXXX-A was then transferred to Foundation custody.
SCP-XXXX's anomalous effects only manifest when under the control of SCP-XXXX-A; all other users will find that SCP-XXXX depletes normally as if it was a non-anomalous ammunition box. Upon using any weapon with SCP-XXXX loaded in, SCP-XXXX-A appears to have a more efficient regenerative/healing factor, able to sustain [DATA EXPUNGED] amounts of damage before being fully neutralised. However, SCP-XXXX-A is susceptible to any ordinary injury when not handling SCP-XXXX. It is speculated that SCP-XXXX-A uses SCP-XXXX as a means to preserve his youth, hence his killings in ███. The exact workings of this youth-gaining mechanism is unknown, but SCP-XXXX-A has remarked that "the bullets give me their souls, and makes me young."
After the administration of Class-A amnesiacs, however, SCP-XXXX-A was successfully reintegrated to civilian life. His generally neutral and compliant behaviour on-site has allowed him to be repurposed as Site-77's firearms safety inspector, where he tests and repairs any damaged firearms belonging to the on-site security team. He is to be provided with a Class 3 Security Clearance for his activities, and allowed to hunt animals in ██████████ Wildlife Hunting Ground in order to preserve his youthful appearance.
Addendum 001: SCP-XXXX-6's plastic ersatz lid was found to have neutralised SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties. Care should be taken not to damage any components of any instances, as it appears that SCP-XXXX requires all components to be intact for it to function properly.
- Field Researcher A██████ V█████
Addendum 002: Protocol ß-9: SCP-XXXX's use to neutralise security threats, which includes (and is not limited to) SCPs, has been approved by O-5 Command until further notice. This Protocol is to be initiated as a last resort only, when all available ammunition sources have been depleted or rendered unusable, and there is a significant risk of security compromise. Initial security procedures should always be followed.
