Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a secure storage locker, with minimum dimensions of 100cm by 50cm by 20cm.

SCP-XXXX is to be accessed only by a senior researcher or staff member of level-3 clearance or above. Testing of SCP-XXXX is only to be permitted if under the supervision of a staff member of level-4 clearance or above in a designated testing chamber.

Description:
SCP-XXXX is a sword with unidentifiable markings running along the length of the blade. The hilt of SCP-XXXX is constructed from iron, but the material of the blade is unknown. The shape of SCP-XXXX changes based on who touches it, with recorded instances including varying types of swords, spears, and axes. Regardless of the form, SCP-XXXX maintains its material makeup and markings.

Subjects who hold SCP-XXXX report a feeling of familiarity and a sense of security with the object. The blade of SCP-XXXX cuts through any non-living object cleanly but passes through any living matter like smoke. Any living matter SCP-XXXX touches while passing through turns grey and dies. Tests on why the effect is restricted to living matter are still ongoing.

Addendum:
Further testing with SCP-XXXX has revealed that the use of SCP-XXXX results in the subject seeing a figure, designated as SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-1 is reported to have the features of a human male with scratched out eyes. The exact purpose of SCP-XXXX-1 remains unknown, but when D-Class personnel D-13204 tried to attack supervisor Dr.█████, SCP-XXXX-1 appeared and attacked D-13204, resulting in his death. All other reports have consisted of SCP-XXXX-1 following the subject for one week or until someone else uses SCP-XXXX.

Test XXXX-1 - 06/20/2015

Subject: D-15860 under the supervision of Dr.█████

Procedure: D-15860 is to pick up SCP-XXXX, and the shape it takes is to be recorded. D-13204 is then to describe SCP-XXXX-1 to Dr.█████.

Results: D-15860 picked up SCP-XXXX, and it took the form of a spear. When asked to describe SCP-XXXX-1, D-15860 described a humanoid figure with long fingernails and scratched out eyes.

Analysis: SCP-XXXX-1 was not reported to threaten D-15860 in any way. It is currently assumed that SCP-XXXX-1 has some other function than to frighten the holder of SCP-XXXX, but the specific function remains unknown.

Test XXXX-2 - 06/29/2015

Subject: D-15860 under the supervision of Dr.█████

Procedure: D-15860 is to test SCP-XXXX on an apple, a statue, and a sedated monkey.

Results: When SCP-XXXX passed through the apple, the entire apple turned grey and died. On the statue, SCP-XXXX cut through without any reported resistance. When SCP-XXXX passed through the monkey's arm, only the arm turned grey and died. Passing SCP-XXXX through the tail also resulted in only that appendage dying.

Analysis: The damage that SCP-XXXX can do to a living organism is not much more than a sword that can pass through armor. The process of passing through organic material but not through inorganic material is to be further studied for potential future use.

Test XXXX-3 - 07/06/2015

Subject: D-13204 under the supervision of Dr.█████

Procedure: D-13204 is to pick up SCP-XXXX, and the shape it takes is to be recorded. D-13204 is then to describe SCP-XXXX-1 to Dr.█████

Results: D-13204 grabbed SCP-XXXX, and it took the shape of a scimitar. When asked to look at SCP-XXXX-1, D-13204 turned and attacked Dr.█████. Before D-13204 was able to make contact, SCP-XXXX-1 appeared to both participants, grabbed D-13204, and slit his throat with its fingernails.

Analysis: SCP-XXXX-1 seems to attack the subject if SCP-XXXX is being used for malicious intent. Further testing of SCP-XXXX is to be done with D-Class personnel who have not been convicted of a violent crime, and any researcher who is monitoring testing procedures must be in a separate room.
