The Plantacious Phenomenon

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class : Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a small pot, surrounded by 30 metres of concrete flooring. Approximately 15 metres from SCP-XXXX is a yellow chalk marker, whilst at 5 metres, there is a red chalk marker. SCP-XXXX is to be surrounded with a solid concrete wall with an airtight, stainless steel door. No personnel are allowed beyond the 15 metre chalk mark; all class-D personnel must be safely experimented on beyond 15 metres with the permission of one (1) level 4 senior administrator. Authorisation to cross the 15-metre mark is no longer authorised since Incident XXXX-01. SCP-XXXX is kept on Site-██.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a green plant with notable thorns on it’s stalk. SCP-XXXX has an average height of 37 centimetres. Upon inspection, SCP-XXXX is seen to closely resemble the plantae species “solanum carolinense”; apart from the average height difference, where solanum carolinense has an average of 9.8 centimetres. SCP-XXXX is seen flowering at certain times during spring. The flowers of which, are observed as being "reddish-violet".

SCP-XXXX’s anomalous effects are not apparent until SCP-XXXX’s roots are within 5 metres of any soil. If under these circumstances, SCP-XXXX will rapidly grow one of it’s roots and submerge itself into the soil. Once the root is submerged into the soil, SCP-XXXX will rapidly grow new versions of itself among the soil’s surface and spread rapidly. The amount of procreations in one minute has been reported at an average of 19.3 procreations. Soil isn’t the only thing SCP-XXXX is observed procreating in, however; as SCP-XXXX has been reported wrapping around several class-D personnel and expanding it’s roots into the orifices of the individual. This almost certainly results in death without intervention as SCP-XXXX [DATA-EXPUNGED]. Although SCP-XXXX only expands into the orifices of an individual, it has also been reported expanding into open wounds of wounded personnel. This is the same with all organic matter, as SCP-XXXX uses anything organic with visible orifices as a host for procreation. If SCP-XXXX has access to a new branch of soil or organic matter, it will continue to spread until there is no longer any form of soil or organic matter for it to use as a reproductive source.

Instances of SCP-XXXX were originally found overwhelming a small park in Darwin, Australia. Most of which, had been reported by park security. After the containment (And eradication of most instances) of SCP-XXXX, all people involved with reporting SCP-XXXX are administered Class-A amnestics through the air and are transported to █████. According to on-site personnel, the reason SCP-XXXX hadn't spread to other parts was because the perimeter of the park was covered by an 8x7 metre-long, concrete path.

Incident Report XXXX-01: Several Class-D personnel are being tested on (D-3856, male, 42; D-8215, male, 23; and D-9439, female, 26). D-9439 is told to move to a position beyond 5 metres and within 10 metres of SCP-XXXX. D-9439 disobeys these rules and steps closer to SCP-XXXX out of curiosity. CTV captures a root expanding rapidly and then entering the mouth of D-9439. D-9493 attempts to scream, but is then rapidly coiled over and is [REDACTED]. Following this, D-3856 is also [REDACTED] from being too close to D-9439's 'coiled' body. D-8215 violently requests to be let out, but is kept inside due to the risk of a containment breach. D-8215 is then also [REDACTED] by SCP-XXXX. D-3856/ 8215's bodies are eventually collected through the use of a flamethrower, although due to the close proximity of D-9439's body to SCP-XXXX, the retrieving of D-9439's corpse is deemed 'too risky' by clearance-level 4 personnel and staff are advised to let the corpse 'just rot away'.
