Item #: SCP-####
Object Class: Delta "S"
Special Containment Procedures: Instances of SCP-#### are to be manifested in a 2.13 x 2.13m air-tight security room and are to be monitored via CCTV at all times for security purposes. CCTV footage of instances of SCP- #### must be regularly updated and backed up on Foundation databases in case of the event of a breach.
All electrical appliances (whether security based or for experimental purposes) must have their own individual back-up power sources on standby, in case any anomalous affects generated by instances of SCP-#### shut-down power sources. Dated or otherwise invalid footage of instances of SCP-#### must be cleared out of Foundation databases on a monthly basis, and are to be disposed of in such a way as to make them unrecoverable. Any researchers wishing to conduct any experiments involving SCP-#### are to log their research prior to beginning experiments and post experiment(s). Research teams must await clearance before commencing.
Description: SCP-#### refers to the creation of multiple thaumiel class SCP's as a result of using several safe class SCP's to modify non-anomalous objects in an attempt to contain the desired affects of the SCP's involved into one object(s). Therefore instances of SCP-####'s are to be referred to as a collective and not as singular entities. SCP-#### instances emit the properties [that they have been assigned] of one or more safe class SCP's used during the creation process and do not generally differ from the anomalous affects placed upon them.
SCP-#### in itself is an electromagnetic (gamma) wave which emits all the typical properties of regular gamma waves (energies generally exceeding 100KeV, frequencies greater than 10^19Hz and wavelengths less than 10 picometers). Instances of SCP-#### in it's wavelength form only exist for the duration of the reaction (this is generally for around 10-15 picoseconds) and gets fully absorbed by the reaction target. Instances of SCP-#### have the ability to carry the affects of other SCP's involved in the reaction to the target reactant for inheritance in the form of energy. The way in which it manages to achieve this is currently unknown to the foundation, however, efforts are currently ongoing regarding the atomic changes in the atoms of the SCP-reactants used in the reaction post and prior experiment(s).
In rare instances, multiple new properties may emerge (although generally only one new property emerges) as a result of the other properties interacting with each other at equilibrium (this can be achieved by assigning conflicting properties that attempt to interact with each other at the same time, in which one of three things will happen: The more potent or powerful property will displace the "weaker", or less "dominant" property, or they will "overlap" and create a new property from the remaining anomalous properties, whilst keeping the latter).
Testing has revealed that a separate non-anomalous object can only be assigned a maximum of six properties before "elapsing" into one blend of an anomalous affect. However, it has been suggested that in order to get around this, multiple separate instances of SCP-#### can complement each other with their properties, whilst not being linked directly to each other. However, this can only work if the separate instances do not interact with each other. Multiple researchers have suggested that the instances can be used to increase the effectiveness of foundation equipment, however, permissions regarding the continuance of the creation of instances of SCP-#### are still pending.
Problems concerning the accidental creation of "elapsed" SCP's have also arisen. The result of too many "elapsed" SCP's coming into existence has become somewhat of a practical problem as well as a financial one; the foundation does not have the space or the time or the monetary resources required to store or observe all of the experimental residue, therefore, in order to recycle the "elapsed" SCP's, "blanks" have been created as a solution. "Blanks" are created in the same way as other instances of SCP-####, but their primary purpose is to erase the anomalous properties of other "elapsed" SCP's. Therefore, it is theoretically possible to recycle anomalous objects if the desired affects are not obtained.
Protocols regarding permissions and execution of experiments:
Permissions/applications:
.Suggestions/permissions regarding the creation(s) on SCP-#### instances must be approved of at least 5 level 3 personnel prior to experimentation and experiments must be checked again by 3 level 3 personnel. Applications must be submitted 30 days prior to the suggested date of initiation. In these applications researchers wishing to carry out the experiments must clearly outline their objectives and what SCP's they intend to use, as well as any potential risks that may arise due to the experiments, and what precautions will be taken to counteract said risks. Researchers should also provide clear evidence showing that they thoroughly understand the affects of the SCP's being used. If any applications fail to meet these criteria they are viable to immediate cancellation.
.Level 4 or higher personnel hold the right to immediately shut down or deny applications which they believe will pose a significant threat to the foundation or staff.
Experiments:
.The use of D-Class unless specifically stated for is strictly forbidden.
.Prior to experiments taking place, a thorough risk assessment must be run of the room and the area around it. Power sources must be thoroughly checked as well as any back-up or emergency power sources, as well as any tools/apparatus required for the experiment(s).
.Experiments must be overseen by at least 3 overseers observing the overall progress of the project.
.SCP's obtained via experiments must never be left unobserved. Failure to store/remove the anomalous objects as stated will result in the experiment being immediately shut down and potential discontinuation of the experiment(s).
.Once the results have been logged, copies of the data must be immediately sent to the experiment overseers who in turn must give copies to personnel of higher class for reviewing.
