Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a large secure container within Site-XX's Anomalous Objects Vault. Personnel are not to come into physical contact with SCP-XXXX unless under testing circumstances. D-class used in experiments with SCP-XXXX that do not result in the termination or permanent loss of function of the subject are to be sent back to their cells and administered sedatives.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a twin-sized mattress containing steel springs and is stuffed with a combination of acrylic fibers and a secondary material, hereby known as SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-1 has a consistency similar to small, plastic pellets, and is thought to be responsible for SCP-XXXX’s anomalous properties. Chemical analysis of SCP-XXXX-1 shows it to not consist of any compounds currently known to conventional science, however it has shown to not exhibit anomalous properties on its own consistent with those of SCP-XXXX.

When any living organism comes in physical contact with SCP-XXXX, it will accelerate the rate at which beta-amyloid¹ builds up in the brain at an exponential level, causing stroke, seizure, or permanent brain damage within a period of 12 hours or less. Additionally, it seems impossible to enter REM sleep while in physical contact with SCP-XXXX, even when administered powerful sedatives.
