Special Containment Procedures: Due to the widely popular nature of SCP-XXXX, there are no effective methods for containing it. Several attempts have been made to suppress access to SCP-XXXX by the general public [see Addendum A], but none so far have worked. Any ideas for effective and anonymous containment are welcome from any persons of security clearance 2 or above.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a widely influential short novel titled [redacted] by author [redacted] and published in 19xx. Readers of this book usually experience a mild personality-shift consistent with other non-anonymous pieces of great literature. (“Great” here being as described by the general community of literary scholars). SCP-XXXX only exhibits its anomalous properties roughly ■■% of the time, based on testing with literate D-Class individuals.
SCP-XXXX is considered a memetic cognitohazard which can cause the reader to become obsessive over the main character in the novel, a young adult called [redacted] who becomes bitter and disenfranchised with society. During such an SCP-XXXX event, the reader (hence forth reffered to as SCP-XXXX-1) will enter a delusional state in which they see themselves as a manifestation of the main character and proceed to commit acts of violence which follow a specific pattern. This incident implies an incredible range of SCP-XXXX's effects, considering the instance of SCP-XXXX-1 had no known ties to this instance of SCP-XXXX-2 and the latter had massive stardom. The instance of SCP-XXXX-1 was living in ■■■■■■, Hawaii but had managed to travel all the way to New York City, managing to find [redacted]. The aftermath of this assassination caused a number of suicides and great bereavement for [redacted].
