Special Containment Procedures: All known copies of SCP-4288 are stored on an ordinary USB file, which is to be kept in a safe. An algorithm has been put in place on several major video streaming platforms in order to monitor for and take down any new instances of SCP-4288 as soon as they appear.
Description: SCP-4288 is a collection of music videos, for a band identified as "Aikoriko" (hereafter referred to as SCP-4288-1). SCP-4288-1 appears to be two females of Japanese origin, aged between 20 and 25 years old. The songs performed in the videos are generally fast-paced, and performed in Japanese. The music videos are generally fairly simple, usually consisting of SCP-4288-1 performing in various locations. At present, no pattern has been found in the choice of locations, which can be found in addendum SCP-4288-L.
The anomalous effect manifests when SCP-4288 is viewed by an individual. Those in the 12-25 age bracket are most susceptible, with 84% of tested subjects experiencing the anomalous effect. The individual will at first express an affinity for the music, and a fondness for SCP-4288-1. Over the following weeks, the individual will become obsessed with SCP-4288, watching the videos constantly. They will be compelled to share the videos with as many people as they can. As the obsession progresses the individual will be begin to neglect all activities that are not watching SCP-4288. This includes bathing, eating, and sleeping. Individuals normally die approximately 8-10 weeks following exposure.
