Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is stored in a standard containment chamber that is 5 meters wide by 5 meters long. The walls of the container are glass so that the subject may be observed during testing. On the door to the chamber there is a small hatch so that the test subjects may be given whatever supplies they need in order to test the SCP. While not being tested no other security measures need to be taken. While testing is in progress 2 Armed guards are to be stationed outside the containment chamber in 8 hour shifts. No personnel is to test SCP-XXXX without the clearance of 2 or more Level 2 Personnel. No personnel is to test SCP-XXXX if they require inorganic life-support material.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a standard King Sized bed stored at Site-33. The bed itself has no anomalous properties that have been observed. It has been described by D-Class Personnel as being “The most comfortable bed they have ever slept in”. They have also reported that “It felt as though something was missing next to them.” Upon awakening the test subjects noted nothing felt out of place or odd. Basic vitals testing was done and again nothing appears to be anomalous.

SCP-XXXX’s effect occurs sometime during the next time a test subject sleeps in a bed that is not SCP-XXXX. Sometime while they are asleep they are transported back to SCP-XXXX, put under the covers, and another anomalous object, labeled SCP-XXXX-A, is seen lying in bed next to them under the covers. Upon waking up the test subject was naked and expressed confusion as to why they were in a holding cell (regardless if the test subject was aware of the effect of SCP-XXXX or not). The object that is lying in the bed next to them also gets up and it appears to be an exact copy of the last test subject to sleep in the bed. The copy is indistinguishable from the original and also express confusion as to why they are in the bed. Upon realizing there is a copy of the test subjects often bicker as to which one is the “original”. After some time passes one of the two (assumed to be SCP-XXXX-A) suggest some form of contest to decide which is the real one. If the test subject refuses they are unable to go farther than 5 meters from SCP-XXXX. They are unable to pass through what seems to be an invisible barrier. If more than 48hours pass one of the two subjects dies of sudden major organ failure. It is widely believed that the original dies and the copy survives.

If both of the subjects agrees to the contest, they both compete in the suggested task until someone is declared the winner. Contests that have been held include; First to 3 wins in Rock-Paper-Scissors, a knife fight, chess, checkers, competitive Starcraft 2, boxing match, and a painting contest judged by the researchers. After the contest is completed the loser dies of organ failure. If SCP-XXXX-A is the winner it states “I am the copy” and is promptly terminated by the security personnel on duty. As of writing this document the copy has won twice.

Test XXXX-█ - Date 8/█/██

Subject: D-20685

Procedure: D-20685 was ordered to sleep in SCP-XXXX. After sleeping, D-20685 was promptly chipped so that they could be differentiated from SCP-XXXX-A. That night D-20685 was transported to SCP-XXXX. When researchers checked the position of the chip to determine which one of the entities was SCP-XXXX-A, the chip functioned but was left behind in D-20685's holding cell. D-20685 and SCP-XXXX-A bickered for an hour before determining the best way to determine which one of them is the real D-20685 is to have a knife fight. The researchers gave them knives and they promptly began fighting. After about 5 minutes SCP-XXXX-A was dead and it was determined that D-20685 was the winner.

Results: D-20685 was treated for minor stab wounds and lacerations and sent back to their holding cell. SCP-XXXX-A’s body was disposed of and the containment chamber was cleaned in preparation for the next test.

Test XXXX-█ - Date 8/█/██

Subject: D-20792

Procedure: D-20792 was ordered to sleep in SCP-XXXX and the next night was transported to SCP-XXXX as anticipated. However D-20792 and SCP-XXXX-A died in the night as D-20792 had a pacemaker and it was left behind in the cell when he was transported from.

Results: The bodies were disposed of and the containment chamber was cleaned in preparation for the next test.
