Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Initial attempts at containment occurred in 1869 which consisted of two young males digging a hole approximately 9 meters deep, dumping the object inside, and then filling the whole, covering the entity in dirt.
being that the object comes in two forms, both should be approached with extreme caution. Containment of SCP-XXXX in both forms requires only a soundproof box 1 meter by 1 meter to be placed inside of a large room covered in sound absorbing material.
Any instances of contact with SCP-XXXX-1 or SCP-XXXX-2 are to be reported to the foundation immediately. upon arriving to the location of SCP-XXXX The location must be quarantined and any animal or natural phenomena determined to be out of place in the location that SCP-XXXX is located must be attributed to SCP-XXXX. Any person, be they a man, woman or child, found to be operating SCP-XXXX at the time of discovery must be quarantined in a secure facility where they and the effects of SCP-XXXX can be observed by foundation scientists. A security team will be placed on standby to protect the subjects operating the game during the duration of SCP-XXXX's operation.
Description: SCP-XXXX-1 appears as a 61cm length by 61cm width by 23cm height wooden box engraved with the name Jumanji. The object in all observed instances appears to be sentient, and seems to seek out children to operate it. In all instances our subjects have described a loud drumming sound coming from the box, which they say compels them to open the box.
SCP-XXXX Lead Researcher Allen's notes:
Upon opening the box D class test subjects 1593 and 1397 began operation of the object. upon rolling the dice, the piece on the board corresponding to that player would move itself according to the number on the die. Then a riddle would appear on the spherical display at the center of the board. After D-1593 made their move, the riddle appeared stating, REDACTED Following this, a swarm of what were later identified as African killer bees flew in through an open air vent into the room that SCP-XXXX and the D class subjects were in. The security team being immediately dispatched into the room to exterminate the bees, simply gave them another target. after several minutes of screaming the bees flew out from the vent that they entered the room from and the security team was a pile of bodies on the floor. Subjects 1593 and 1397 were shaken, however unharmed by the bees. on 1397's roll a the spherical display showed another riddle stating, REDACTED immediately afterwards a hunter identifying himself as Van Pelt entered the building and stated that he was hunting for D-1397. Van Pelt was immediately detained by security and has not escaped containment yet. Further statements regarding SCP-XXXX are delayed until
D-1593 and D-1397 finish the "game."
SCP-XXXX-2 appears as a 29.46cm by 14.98cm by 5.82cm virtual gaming console, with a green jewel encrusted on the upper left side of the console. Many attempts to study the objects effects as compared to it's sister SCP were met with general failure as all subjects upon starting the operation of said object appearing to be REDACTED. Further attempts at studying SCP-XXXX-2 have been urged to continue. Further attempts at studying SCP-XXXX-2 have been postponed until a response by the initial subjects has been received.
SCP-XXXX Researcher Miles's notes:
Testing SCP-XXXX-2. For this test, 4 D-Class subjects were used. D-15932, D-15931, D-15925, and D-15933. Testing began in a small pressure controlled room, with a security team present for the protection of the subjects in any event of the object creating dangerous events. utilizing a generator placed into the room with proper ventilation, we connected a large TV, and the object to power. upon the objects initial startup completed by D-15931 the subjects were brought to a startup screen stating the following,
For those who seek to find,
A way to leave their world behind.
After which they were brought to a menu screen showing an image displaying several wild mammals, as well as a snake and other humanoid entities, which appeared to be human. a single line of text wrote,
Press To Start
Upon pressing to start, the "Game" prompted them to choose their characters. upon reaching the character selection screen, they were shown the names of 5 separate characters. Their names included, Jefferson "Seaplane" McDonough REDACTED Dr. Smolder Bravestone Prof. Shelly Oberon and finally REDACTED. After choosing their characters, they were prompted to start the "Game" after accepting and starting the "Game" a loud drumming similar to that of SCP-XXXX-1's drumming began to be heard emanating from the object and the green jewel began to glow. The guards began to raise their weapons towards the object before being ordered to drop their weapons. Everyone started to become uneasy including the D-Class subjects, my fellow researchers and myself. The object began to violently shake and spark. After we ordered one of the guards to unplug the object from power, it stopped sparking and shaking, the drumming stopped as well. However, the guard notes that when the plug was pulled, he saw green electricity flowing from one prong to the other on the plug. I noticed that the green light was still present as well. Afterwards, all D-Class subjects began to turn into dust with that dust being sucked into the object. After all D-Class subjects were gone, the test was terminated and the guards were removed from the room.
SCP-XXXX-2 Test Results:
It appeared that the object sucking the subjects into it was it's way of eating them, or feeding itself. Further tests are being conducted by more foundation scientists to determine where exactly the dust went, as we cannot find any traces of dust in SCP-XXXX-2 anywhere.
