Special Containment Procedures: As of incident XXXX-003, and the subsequent investigation's failure to find any evidence of SCP-XXXXs whereabouts, SCP-XXXX has been deemed neutralized.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a cylindrical device, 14cm in length with a 3cm diameter, which has a lens on one end. When a button on SCP-XXXX is pressed, a spatial rift, 1m in length and 3m in height,(designated SCP-XXXX-1) will be produced directly in front of SCP-XXXXs lens within 3m of SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-1 will connect to the place of residence of the individual who activated SCP-XXXX, and will emit bright purple light. SCP-XXXX-1 will close after 10 minutes, or 20 seconds after the individual who activated SCP-XXXX steps through SCP-XXXX-1.
SCP-XXXX was originally in possession of the Nirvana Society (designated GoI-027), who believed it to be of extraterrestrial origin. The Society's goal is to use SCP-XXXX to produce an SCP-XXXX-1 instance that connects to an undetermined exoplanet, where the Society's members can live, and rule.
Addendum XXXX.1: Discovery
SCP-XXXX first came to the Foundation's attention on 7/11/1930, when Richard James Hansen1 and George Martinez2 were seen entering SCP-XXXX-1 while in Washington, D.C. They were both found and apprehended while leaving Hansen’s apartment in New York City. Martinez was terminated by Foundation agents, while Hansen and SCP-XXXX were taken into Foundation Custody.
Addendum XXXX.2: Richard J. Hansen Interview
Interviewed: Richard J. Hansen
Interviewer: Dr William Bell
[BEGIN LOG]
Bell: What were you doing with SCP-XXXX?
Hansen: I presume you mean the thing that makes portals?
Bell: I do.
Hansen: It’s called the Gateway, by the way. Though somehow, I doubt you care.
Anyway, I was in Washington to try and recruit the head of some broadcasting company. Brought the Gateway along to give him a firsthand demonstration. Oh, the other guy was from the Spirit, they’re paid to protect the Gateway.
I was heading back to the station when I thought 'to hell with trains. I’ve got a miracle in my pocket, and Goddammit I’m gonna use it.' Ain’t seeming like the smartest decision now.
Bell: What were you recruiting for?
Hansen: I’m part of a group called the Nirvana Society.
The name comes from The Chinese version of heaven.
Bell: sure. what are the Nirvana society’s goals?
Hansen: Well you see, you know that SCP-XXXX (your gonna think I’m crazy), but It’s from another world.
[silence]
Bell: Right. And?
Hansen: We believe, no, we know that beings from outer space left it here on earth, and one day, the gateway will open for the worthy (us), and we will be taken to our new home. Each of us will have our own entire planet where we’ll be king.
Bell: And what qualifies someone to be worthy?
Hansen: Firstly, you gotta have the Gateway, but you also gotta be winning at life, like me.
Bell: so you're surviving the crash?
Hansen: Um, well. No one's using trains at the moment, but the economy will pick up soon, and the customers along with it. In ten years, everyone will be taking Hansen trains, you'll see.
Bell: You expect to still be here in ten years. On Earth I Mean.
Hansen:Now I think about it, guess I won't be around to see it.
Our founder (no I'm not telling you his name), figured out a way to contact the aliens. He told us that 'when the stars are right, we're sending a message to our saviours, who will take us home' though I'm not too sure on the specifics.
Bell: You trust this founder and his plan?
Hansen: I'd trust him with my life. Hell, I already trust him with my money.
Bell: When were they going to do it?
Hansen: It's the eighth right? 'Bout a week.
Bell: How are you supposed to go to another world when both SCP-XXXX and you are locked up?
Hansen: well, I suppose that is a bit of an issue, ain't it?

Addendum XXXX.4: Incident XXXX-003
At roughly 1400 hours local time on the 16/11/1930, The Foundation received reports of bright purple light coming from one of the windows of the ████████ radio station in New York City, NY. Some reports indicate that the interior of a metal room was visible through the windows. MTF-Pi-1 (“City Slickers”) was dispatched to investigate. The MTF found 13 individuals, including Hansen, that had committed suicide via severing of the radial artery, all of whom were later confirmed to be the only members of the Nirvana Society. SCP-XXXX could not be located. Two documents were recovered from the incident.
