Object Class: Safe

Containment: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a cube made of soundproof Glass. No audio feeds are to be within the cube, and it is not to be removed accessed unless approved by the 05 council.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an old record player, dated about 1923. It has red wood side panellings with gold accents and a bronze horn, with a copy 1812 Overture on it's turntable. It is on a constant repeat cycle and will not stop playing the song even when the record is removed. although the record is removed it shall keep spinning despite no obvious force causing it to move, this in turn causes anyone holding the record to get burns on their hands from the friction, until placed back on the record player. When a subject hears the song, the world around them is altered so that their world matches with the beat and sounds of the song. The object will use nearby objects to match the banging sound, especially during fights. This caused Site ██ to suffer █ causalities, when SCP-███ breached containment as MTF Nu-7 could not fire their guns when required.

SCP-XXXX was obtained after a call from the Canadian Government. MTF Eta-11 was sent to retrieve a record player that had caused ██ casualties on a highway located in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Upon Entering a store named "Monty's Music" MTF Eta-11 the record player was connected to loudspeakers. Unplugging the record player had no effect on the music being played and they transported it to Site ██. Eta-11 reported symbols within the store resembling those of the Chaos Insurgency. Further examination proved this to be true.

Multiple Tests have revealed that placing different records on the record player don't have the same effects unless they are any of the following:

  • William Tell Overture
  • La Gazza Ladra :Overture
  • Il barbire di Siviglia
  • The Nutcracker, Ballet Suite, Op. 71a:II. March
  • The Blue Danube
  • Die Walküre
  • Carmina Burana: O Fortuna
  • The Planets, Op. 32:I Mars the Bringer of War
  • Waltz No. 2, Jazz Suite No. 2
  • Mr. Blue Sky (Electric Lights Orchestra)
  • U Can't Touch This (MC Hammer)
  • Murder By Numbers (The Police)
  • Another One Bites the Dust (Queen)
  • My Way (Frank Sinatra)
  • Time In a Bottle (Jim Croce)
  • Battle of New Orleans (Johnny Horton)
  • Classical Gas (Mason Williams)
  • Flowers on the Wall (The Statler Brothers)

Most of the songs have a distinct beat, the synchronisation to the music ignores the lyrics in most songs, unless they contribute to the rhythm of the song. Testing is still on going and the list may be updated. As of now testing has focused on records alone and different forms of listening mediums may be used in the future.

Addendum 14/05/20██:
Placing a broken Record upon the turn table of SCP-XXXX has lead to the casualty of █ Personnel and ██ D-Class. The Autopsies have revealed all died in the same way. All casualties had their skulls shattered along the side near their temples. The casualties according to the video feed took, 15 minutes and 14 seconds despite most personnel being outside of the containment cell. The area calculated to have been impacted was no more than a 7.85 metre radius and only damaged living organisms.

Addendum 21/05/20██:
SCP-XXXX, SCP-███, SCP-███, and SCP-███ breached containment at Site ██. Chaos Insurgency Agents used this breach to attempt to retrieve multiple SCP's held by the foundation which was held off by multiple personnel. All SCP's have been placed back into containment, and SCP-XXXX is to now be accessed only with level 4 clearance.
