New instances of SCP-XXXX are to be seized and kept under the same conditions until they can be safely destroyed. A few samples of SCP-XXXX are to be kept in storage for documentation and research purposes. Handling SCP-XXXX requires protective gear and tools to prevent exposure.

Description: SCP-XXXX is facial cream contained within a 150ml plastic container that is white, blue and purple in appearance. The container is clearly labelled 'Clearasil ultra' along with it's five supposed uses in a single wash, "Reduces oil and shine, reduces redness, fights spots, deep cleans, controls breakouts". The container contains contact information but upon further investigation the location listed was found to not exist.

The cream inside of the bottle takes the form of a thick black liquid that according to the ingredients listed on the container is said to be composed of Deionized-water, █████ █████████ ███████, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Salicylic Acid, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, ██████████████, Sodium Hydroxide, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Parfum, Disodium, EDTA, Lavandula Stoechas Extract, Cistus Monspeliensis Extract.

When SCP-XXXX is applied to a subject's face it will absorb after being in contact with water and leave the face feeling dry and coarse. After a period of time between 5-8 hours the anomalous effects of SCP-XXXX begin to appear and the subject will start to feel anxious about their physical appearance. The subject will take measures to make themselves appear more attractive such as brushing their hair frequently, brushing their teeth thoroughly and in the case of female subjects, wear more makeup and face products.

Upon a second application of SCP-XXXX usually 24 hours after the first application subjects begin to become disgusted at their own appearance and start to notice spots on their face that weren't previously there. The spots are anomalous properties only seen by the subject and appear in this initial 24 hour time span. Upon noticing the spots subjects will re-apply SCP-XXXX in an attempt to make them disappear. As the SCP is applied more spots will begin to appear repeating the cycle.

Within 36-42 hours after the initial application the subject will become distressed at their own appearance and will avoid interaction with everyone including partners, family and friends. At this stage subjects will re-apply SCP-XXXX every 30 minutes to 1 hour believing it is the only way they can correct their appearance. The subject will also begin witnessing the deterioration of their own face with the SCP causing skin to peel off leaving a viscous residue that is black in appearance. Upon lab analysis the residue is composed of the same ingredients used within SCP-XXXX suggesting that the cream when absorbed remains underneath the subject's skin. The subject's skin will also develop large red welts and pimples that the subject will compulsively pop. The pimples also contain the black residue.

After 42 hours the subject's face will be covered in large gashes from their skin peeling off. At this stage the subject will not eat or drink but will be sustained by the black residue seeping from the pores on their face. The subject will enter a bout of insanity viciously scratching at their own face. As the facial area deteriorates further the subject become horrified at their face but will remain seemingly unaware at the self-destruction they are causing to themselves.

Eventually the subject in contact with SCP-XXXX will take drastic actions to remove their face, believing it is not theirs. In most cases subjects cut their face off exposing the black residue underneath their skin. This action if performed it will cause heavy bleeding and death of the subject if proper medical attention is not received.

Initial test - Date █/█/12

Subject: Class D male age 26
Procedure: Subject is asked to apply SCP-XXXX onto facial area once every 24 hours and is asked to describe their face to test coordinators once every 2 hours.
Results: After the subject applied SCP-XXXX for the first time they seemed nervous about being watched by cameras, using the mirror provided the subject frequently checked their face and hair adjusting it when it was out of place. After applying the SCP for a second time the subject became disgusted at spots that only he could see, during the description of his face the subject made note of the spots in particular, stating that "The cream would get rid of those." at the 37 hour mark of observation the subject began applying the SCP in substantially large amounts and skin was visibly peeling off of the subject's face. The subject didn't respond to coordinators when questioned about their face. After 43 hours of observation the subject began furiously clawing at their own face causing large amounts of skin to peel off their face. Facility Personnel was sent into test chamber to subdue the subject, the subject was seen frantically trying to hide their own face from personnel during the extraction process. Members of the facility personnel were exposed to the black residue covering the subject during extraction which only induced feelings of anxiety in the personnel for a period of up to 48 hours. The subject was sedated and moved into a holding cell for further analysis and questioning.

Further Testing - Date █/██/14

Subject: Class D female age 35
Procedure: Subject is asked to apply SCP-XXXX onto facial area once every 24 hours
Results: After the first application the subject began using provided makeup to cover-up her face. Upon the second application 24 hours after the first the subject began noticing spots upon her face, the subject used more makeup in an attempt to cover the spots up to no avail. The subject started applying the SCP at a faster pace than before. Skin began to peel off the subject's face at the 38th hour of observation. At the 42nd hour of observation the subject began clawing off their face in a bout of insanity leading to black residue spilling out around the testing room. Testing continued despite the danger posed to the subject. The subject began looking for a sharp object around the test chamber becoming visibly distressed at their inability to find anything. The subject smashed the mirror they had been provided with and using a bit of glass they began to slice off their own face. Before facility personnel could enter the room the subject had removed her own face and had begun to bleed profusely. The subject did not not survive long enough to receive medical attention.
Analysis: Exposure to the SCP will eventually result in severe self-harm inflicted by those affected which can result in death if proper medical attention is not received.

Addendum: Testing has shown that dissolving SCP-XXXX in water is an effective method of destruction. A high pressure hose is to be used on the SCP in a heavily controlled environment. Trace elements of SCP-XXXX could be carried by the air so the room destruction occurs in is to be air-tight and must only be entered when wearing proper safety gear.

SCP-XXXX was brought to the attention of the foundation after a series of suicides in ████████ and █████. The SCP was present within all the homes of the victims. Family and partners of the victims stated similar situations of victims shutting themselves away, and becoming more disgusted at spots appearing on their faces. They also noted screaming and crying coming from the victims and upon investigation they state they witnessed the victims in a frenzy clawing away at themselves and other symptions brought on by SCP-XXXX. All of the victims did not receive medical attention in time. Class B amnestics were issued to those related to the victims and the first responders.

Approximately 37 hours after the initial reports the foundation was alerted to similar reports in the two towns with those who were involved in the initial cases related to SCP-XXXX succumbing to similar symptoms. The foundation fearing a large scale outbreak placed the two towns under quarantine while investigations were conducted. In second series of cases it was discovered that the new victims had purchased and used SCP-XXXX after their initial contact with the black residue it leaves upon it's victims. After SCP-XXXX was discovered to be the cause of the deaths all containers of it were removed from stores in the local area and a large scale recall was issued across the entire country. Class A amnestics were administered across the two towns.

Since the initial incident SCP-XXXX has not been found on store shelves anywhere in the United States or the rest of the world. Where the the SCP came from and who created it currently remains unknown to the foundation.
