Item #: SCP-5002
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures
-SCP-5002 must be visited and communicated with each day by a D-Class personnel for the allotted 2 hours at 5:00pm Pacific Time. The D-Class must begin with a bow towards 5002 extending into usual human pleasantries carrying this on for at least a minute with no response; after which the D-Class will state “The robbed that smiles, steals something from the thief.” If 5002 shows a comedy face, it must then be asked to draw an item chosen by from Dr. Django Bridge‘s list of appropriated objects. If 5002 shows a tragedy face, no further action will be taken and the D-Class will then bow, recite “For never was a story of more woe than this” and exit the containment area. SCP-5002 must also be united with SCP-999 once a month.
Description:
-SCP-5002 was first discovered in the Fox West Coast Theatre in Santa Ana California in 1983 by a wealthy investor looking to restore the old theatre. The investor, mistaking SCP-5002 for a stage prop, was both surprised and horrified when, as he recalls in the police report. “A tall skinny figure, possessing a golden mask and bright piercing eyes, clothed in what appeared to be renaissance era garments from the neck down, slowly leaned forward in it’s chair, looking directly towards me from the opposite side of the stage.”
After a call to the local local Santa Ana law enforcement, 4 officers arrived at the theatre to investigate the intruder, the police tried to interrogate the mysterious figure with no response. One officer attempted to apprehend 5002, placing his hand on it’s arms at which moment the officer immediately turned into what the other 3 officers described as “A statue, but like a painted portrait.” At this point the officers called the Foundation sensing that 5002 would be classified as an anomaly. A foundation task force arrived and continued to interrogate 5002, taking precautions as not to come into any physical contact with 5002. After a lengthy period of the task force politely asking 5002 to peacefully exit the theatre with them; a scientist roaming the theatre read a quote on one of the old cue cards that was left behind the stage, “To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man.” To this 5002’s mask, which had to yet at this point been similar to that of a tragedy face, begin to change. The slits above it’s eyes started to shift upward, it’s cheeks slowly pulled back from its mouth, and the corner of it’s lips bended towards it’s forehead; however 5002’s eyes still remained a bright blue. The mask now resembled a comedy face, and is only later noted, that’s 5002’s enormous shoes appeared to thin. The scientist, knowing this quote being from Shakespeare, then again quoted from one of Shakespeare’s works “Boldness be my friend.” At this time 5002 rose from his seat and beckoned the scientist to move along. 5002 was then transferred to a containment cell at site 19.
What follows is a series of tests and logs from Dr. Django Bridge.
