Item Number # : SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:
Due to the inert nature of the subject, SCP-XXXX demands minimal security surveillance, requiring only a single operative camera in its containment chambers and one guard outside at all times.
SCP-XXXX is currently housed inside of Site-17, and is to be contained inside of a completely unembellished large humanoid containment unit at all times. On the ██/██/████, upon the subject’s request (see Addendum-XXXX-1), its containment cell was decorated with basic undergrowth and foliage, which is to be tended to on a tri-daily basis.
SCP-XXXX does not require sustenance of any form.
Should the subject request so, additional objects are to be added to its containment, given that they do not breach security measures. Upon review, no new items are to be introduced to the subject’s cell.
Despite the unlikelihood of SCP-XXXX beaching containment, in the case that SCP-XXXX is abducted, or otherwise escapes, no less than two (2) SCP Agents armed with ropes and semi-automatic firearms are to be dispatched on the subject’s relevant position.
Description:
SCP-XXXX is a humanoid creature, measuring at approximately seven (7) meters tall. The subject is compromised of a previously unclassified form of wood, having bark as a substitute for skin. The wood itself seems to be significantly heavier than most other species, but is unclear wether this is an anomalous feature, or merely a side-effect of its dense composition.
It is hypothesised that as a bi-product of the subject’s immense weight and size, that SCP-XXXX is rendered incapable of locomotion without further assistance. Wether this is factual, or the actual reason, is currently undetermined.
How SCP-XXXX is able to move (minimally) of its own accord is also unknown.
SCP-XXXX’s exact origins are, as of yet, unresolved. The subject occasionally provides its version of background. However, given the lack of evidence to support any claims made by SCP-XXXX, the subject’s words are to be considered with skepticism.
Discovery:
SCP-XXXX was discovered in a [DATA REDACTED] forest beyond the border of ██████. Subject’s location was pinpointed after rumors about a “████ ███” began circling in the area. SCP-XXXX was promptly transported to Site-17 without incident.
Addendum-XXXX-1:
Following ███ (█) months after initial containment, SCP-XXXX, previously thought incapable of speech, was heard suddenly breaking into a conversation. Present security alerted Dr. Alex █████ (who was tasked with SCP-XXXX at the time).
Audio Log from initial Interview (XXXX-1-A):
Interviewer: Dr. Alex █████
Interviewed: SCP-XXXX
<Begin Log.>
SCP-XXXX can be heard mumbling unintelligently to itself as Dr. Alex █████ arrives. Alex speaks into a temporary microphone, a small speaker have being placed inside of the room.
Dr. Alex █████: SCP-XXXX?
The subject continues to gibber.
Dr. Alex █████: I’ll ask you, can you speak? If not, can you understand me?
SCP-XXXX now stops, looking at the door.
SCP-XXXX: (A brief silence). Yes, yes, I may speak. To you, or them.
Dr. Alex █████: And have you always been able to talk?
SCP-XXXX: Perhaps.
Another momentary silence
Dr. Alex █████: Well, why haven’t you?
SCP-XXXX: You men never asked me to.
Dr. Alex █████: And why now, exactly?
SCP-XXXX: I saw to it, fit, that I speak to them.
Dr. Alex █████: I don’t think I understand.
SCP-XXXX: (A laugh before continuing) I suppose you would not… No.
Dr. Alex █████: Could you please explain? Who are these ‘others?’
SCP-XXXX does not respond.
Dr. Alex █████: SCP-XXXX?
<End Log.>
Note by █████: XXXX seemingly refused to speak with me. The fact that it can speak at all is… Startling. I’ll be keeping my ears open from now on.
████ (█) days after SCP-XXXX’s initial reveal, the subject once again spoke. The following transcript is taken from the next interview.
Audio Log from follow-up Interview (XXXX-1-B):
Interviewer: Dr. Alex █████
Interviewed: SCP-XXXX
<Begin Log.>
SCP-XXXX can once again be heard mumbling to themselves, the words too quiet to be comprehended by the audio device at the time.
Dr. Alex █████: Ah, SCP-XXXX, I see you’re—
SCP-XXXX: (Cutting off Dr. █████ abruptly) This room is rather dim, and tight. Wouldn’t you agree?
Dr. Alex █████: Pardon me?
SCP-XXXX: This room. (The subject taps the floor weakly) It is rather poor compared to the likes of those outside.
Dr. Alex █████: SCP-XXXX, I would greatly appreciate it if you got to the point.
SCP-XXXX: Ah, well, would it be possible for some plants to be moved inside? If I am to stay?
Dr. Alex █████: (Pauses) And if we do that, will you talk to me more?
SCP-XXXX: (Silent for a few moments, apparently thinking). Yes, I would.
Dr. Alex █████ let’s out an audible sigh.
Dr. Alex █████: Alright, we can arrange it.
SCP-XXXX: Splendid!
The subject begins to mumble to itself again.
Dr. Alex █████: And I’d assume that’s all from you?
After no response from SCP-XXXX, Dr. Alex █████ is heard turning the speaker off and discussing with nearby personnel.
<End Log.>
Addendum-XXXX-2:
SCP Agents, accompanied by Researcher ██████ ████████, travelled to the initial discovery site of SCP-XXXX and collected an assembly of plant life and flora (Ferns, ███ ████ leaves, etc), and were placed in the subject’s containment unit.
Audio Transcript from Interview (XXXX-2-A):
Interviewer: Dr. Alex █████
Interviewed: SCP-XXXX
<Begin Log.>
SCP-XXXX is heard muttering to itself once again, along with comments on the room’s new plant-life.
Dr. Alex █████: Admiring the scene, XXXX?
SCP-XXXX: Why yes. It is still rather flat, but an improvement.
Dr. Alex █████: Well, now that you’re more comfortable, would you mind answering some quick questions for us?
SCP-XXXX: I would be capable of it, yes.
Dr. Alex █████: Great, give me a second.
The slight shuffling of papers can be heard, presumably of Dr. Alex █████‘s notes.
Dr. Alex █████: Alright. SCP-XXXX, can you tell me where you came from?
SCP-XXXX: I thought that would be clear.
Dr. Alex █████: No.
SCP-XXXX: Ah, well, I was birthed in the soil of [REDACTED], along with my brethren.
Dr. Alex █████: (Pauses, taking notes) Spelling?
SCP-XXXX repeats the word, spelling it out.
Dr. Alex █████: And… Where is this?
SCP-XXXX: I could not say, even if I wanted to.
Dr. Alex █████: How come?
SCP-XXXX: Well you see, I am lost.
Dr. Alex █████: Before or after your containment?
SCP-XXXX: That’s what you’d call it? Containment? Nevertheless, I had trailed off my land before your men arrived.
Dr. Alex █████: Alright. Do you have a name?
SCP-XXXX: ██████.
Dr. Alex █████: (Pauses) How old are you?
SCP-XXXX: I could not put it into years.
Dr. Alex █████: You’re being awfully cryptic.
SCP-XXXX: (A laugh) And how else am I supposed to answer?
Dr. Alex █████: Clearly would be preferable. (█████ pauses, then continues) Nevermind that. You mentioned that there were more like you?
SCP-XXXX: Indeed.
Dr. Alex █████: Can you give me location? Names?
SCP-XXXX: ██████████, my sibling.
Dr. Alex █████: Location?
SCP-XXXX: Could not say.
Dr. Alex █████: Because you don’t want to, or that you can’t?
SCP-XXXX does not respond.
Dr. Alex █████: Really?
After more silence, Dr. Alex █████ turns off the speaker.
<End Log.>
