SCP-XXX at the antique shop

**Item #: SCP-XXXX

**Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-XXXX currently resides in Site [REDACTED] and can be used for testing and changing of objects. SCP-XXXX is never to be moved from its bronze pedestal unless being used for testing, in which SCP-XXXX is to be moved to a 3 * 3 * 3 room or smaller unless a member of staff with level 4 clearance or higher says otherwise. SCP-XXXX is to remain on its pedestal during transportation and must not fall at any time (see incident-XXXX-A). Only SCP foundation staff with level 3 level 4 or higher clearance can initiate testing with SCP-XXXX and must be present for testing to begin.

**Description: **

SCP-XXXX appears to be an 18th-century balance scale made of bronze with an oak wood base, two symbols inscribed on either disk, the symbols are α and β (alpha and beta).
SCP-XXXX was discovered in an antique shop after emergency services were called for a report that a man “started floating”. Emergency services arrived at the scene and saw the man hovering 23 meters off the ground, the SCP foundation was eventually called after the man was seen by mobile task force. Site [REDACTED] sent three undercover personnel to the scene where the shop owner told Dr ███ that the man had tried to steal SCP-XXXX but somehow floated into the sky. SCP personnel were told wait for mobile task force Pi-1 to retrieve SCP-XXXX and the floating man and bring them to site [REDACTED] and give everyone who viewed the incident class A amnestics. It was only after mobile task force retrieved SCP-XXXX and the man that they found out about SCP-XXXX’s anomalous properties. SCP-XXXX has the ability to change the weight of an object on the beta disk to the same weight of the object on the alpha disk. The words “Μπορεί το βάρος να αρθεί από τους ώμους σας” are inscribed on the bottom of SCP-XXXX’s wooden base, meaning “The weight can be lifted off your shoulders”.

** Addendum: **

Addendum 1:

A test initiated by Dr ████
Test A - 4/11/████

Subject: SCP-XXXX
Procedure: SCP-XXXX was put into a 5*5*6 room, a 13-kg weight and a rat was brought in and the rat was put on the beta disk and the weight on the alpha disk.
Results: Despite the size of SCP-XXXX, the weight did not tip SCP-XXXX. When the rat was put on the disk the disk became even with the weight. When the rat was taken off Dr ████ found that the rat weighed exactly 13 kg.

Addendum 2:

Test B - 4/14/████

Subject: SCP-XXXX
Procedure: SCP-XXXX was put into a 3*3*4 chamber and two toy cars each weighing 0.4 kg and a 9-kg weight brought in.
Results:Both cars were put on the beta disk and the 9 kg weight on the alpha disk. In the end, both cars weighed an equal weight of 9 kg.

Dr ████ noted: > "More than one object can be placed on the beta disk and the weight of the object on the alpha disk will evenly distribute between the objects on the beta disk.

Addendum 3:
Incident-XXXX-A

SCP-XXXX fell off the pedestal while on its way to testing when it hit the ground the alpha disk landed on a ball of paper while the beta disk hit the ground, at that moment there were [REDACTED] incidents of structural integrity around the site. [REDACTED] were killed and [REDACTED] injured.
