[Note: While the item is currently considered safe, the following containment procedures are in review.]

The object is held in a metal lock-box, inside a fireproof, heatproof storage cabinet. The cabinet is, in turn, placed in a secure container intended for the storage of heavy ordinance.

This container is housed within a specially commissioned concrete structure featuring reinforced lead latticework of ingenious design. The structure has been placed on a floating gimbal that is intended to prevent damage during the event of an earthquake. [In Review: Containment Site ████ has no reports of previous seismic events.]

This entire unit is located in a dedicated warehouse which [against SPC Site policy] bears the signage "The Dr. ███████ Secure Containment Building". The building is named for the supervising officer that sanctioned its construction.

[Based on a recent review it is strongly recommended that the entire operation is moved to a new, larger, more advanced Site that would be purpose-built to contain the object] [IN REVIEW!]

[Until a satisfactory review can be completed there will be no change to current containment procedures, no guards are to be posted, and no inspection routine is to be observed.]

Description: SCP-X presents as a simple 64-page glossy magazine. It is made with high-grade materials and lightly scented with cologne. The publication is a 2006 copy of VainGlory magazine. Any person that attempts to read the publication displays the symptoms of a massive and irrational ego boost. Prolonged exposure can cause extreme narcissistic, megalomaniacal tendencies to manifest. It has been observed that even a cursory perusal results in a pronounced ‘cattiness’ in the subject.

This has made XXXX difficult to study directly.

Addendum XXXX-01
Having tracked down the address of █████████, the original publisher of the magazine, a thorough sweep of the premises was completed. No further copies of this specific edition have been found and no recent editions show the same effects on test subjects.

On review of company and municipal records, it was discovered that all senior staff involved with the publication during the years 20██-2006 are now deceased. The records show that each person either 1.) came to a violent end, or 2.) succumbed to an addiction, an overdose, or some similar fate indicative of over-indulgence and excess.
The publishing company was purchased and dissolved as part of the investigation. All former staff will be monitored for the foreseeable future.

Addendum XXXX-02
I personally believe that this may be one of the most dangerous items ever encountered by the foundation. It was my innovative, decisive administration that prevented a string of catastrophes from occurring. I think we can all agree that if I were not here to take action we would be in the midst of a string of catastrophes so monumental that we would now be discussing adding an Object Class above that of even Keter. If it does ever come to that, might I suggest naming such a class after yours truly? - Dr. ███████

Addendum XXXX-03
It has been speculated by multiple high ranking officers not directly involved with the operation that the extreme housing procedures for XXXX are, perhaps, overkill. An independent review is currently ongoing but the suspicion is that each successive person tasked with overseeing the procedures has been trying to ‘outdo the last guy’.

If this is found to be the case, sanctions will be placed on the personnel responsible, and a review of the ongoing review will be carried out. The hope is that there is room to scale back a little.
