Item #:SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is stored in a 2 x 2 meter room which has one steel door with a lock that is unlockable via key-card with 2nd security clearance level or higher. Inside the room a safe is placed on a wooden table which stores SCP-XXXX. The safe has a key card lock which needs a security clearance 3 or higher to open it. Testing of SCP-XXXX requires a computer that has a CD drive operational in the PC tower, testing on other CD playing devices is possible, however it does not allow SCP-XXXX to fully use its anomalous abilities.
Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be an average blank CD disk with no signs of damage. It was, and still is stored in a ziplock bag with a sticky note on it reading "For ███ birthday", inside the bag there is a origami humanoid figure that resembles SCP-XXXX-1, however, it does not exude any anomalous effects (more information about SCP-XXXX-1 is down below in the document). The bag and origami is removed when used for testing and SCP-XXXX placed back in it when it is in containment. SCP-XXXX does not have any anomalous effects when held, however, when put in a CD drive of any kind the anomalous effects begin to manifest. Those effects are most prevalent inside a computer.
When placed in the CD drive SCP-XXXX of a computer its contents are available to see and interact with. It stores three files in total, two video files and one picture file (SCP-XXXX contents are described in Addendum-XXXX-1 down below). Upon opening them, SCP-XXXX becomes active. It is also noted that that SCP-XXXX can also get in active state if left idle inside the drive for certain a amount of time, testing shows its minimum 2 hours or up to 3 days. The first sign of SCP-XXXX taking effect on the device is when an error pop up appears on the monitor, with the only option being "OK". These 4 error pop ups always appear on the start of activation, going to the next one when dismissed, they read as so:
1. "Why did you hurt me?"
2. "I did nothing wrong…"
3. "I hate you"
4. "Goodbye"
If these pop ups are not interacted with in time, the anomalous effects still take in approximately in 10 minutes. SCP-XXXX will begin to interact with the device, opening or interacting with programs that are available on the computer and manipulating them in its own ways, often chaotic and sporadic, and usually doing two or more things at the same time, examples include:
1. Scrambling text inside a program
2. Giving a melting effected the desktop background and opened picture files
3. Distorting the view and shaking opened programs
4. Typing in sentences in messaging software and sending them to the user that is available
5. Editing pictures, targeting pictures of family photos
6. Misplacing files in different folders, often scrambling all kinds of files in random folders
7. Bringing up many executables at the same time, slowing down the computer significantly
8. Downloading files from internet if available
SCP-XXXX makes additional error or info pop ups during this, they vary on the persons age that is near the affected computer. If a subject is at adult age the message would say: "Where is your children?", "Watch yourself" or "Are you a bad parent?". To a child or young teen the message would read as: "You plucked out my eyes", "I will hurt you too soon" and "[DATA EXPUNGED]". To subjects that are of elder or senior age the messages did not display.
SCP-XXXX can emit audio if speakers are available, along adjusting its volume randomly, although this is rare, with tests showing that they may only appear 4 to 18 times a day with varying length. These may include: sighs, grunts, screams, coughs, hisses, knocking, crunching, thumps, heavy breathing and teeth clacking.
More audio variety may be available, as testing is still ongoing, it is noted that SCP-XXXX will not emit any type of vocalisation with audio, nor it will interact with a subject nearby. Its unknown if the sounds were made by SCP-XXXX-1.
PC's that have SCP-XXXX in them with an active state will show signs of high memory usage, making them slow to use, if even possible with the anomalous effects, along the available fans will be working on max power as the power box of the computer tower will be overheating, hot to the touch, along when disassembled it shows minor overheating damage. Turning off the PC via start button on screen is hardly possible with the chaotic nature of SCP-XXXX affecting it, and if managed to do, so the PC will not turn off, same with the tower, the power button emits no reaction of shutting down. Plugging out the power cord of the computer will be able to turn off the device, this, however, will not stop SCP-XXXX-1 from manifesting.
When plugged back in again the computer will turn itself on for the time it needs to take, until the desktop is showing with the same anomalous effects that SCP-XXXX makes. Getting SCP-XXXX out of the CD drive is futile since the device does not respond and wont open up, brute force or prying measures were not used for keeping SCP-XXXX intact. Removal of SCP-XXXX from the CD driver requires careful disassembly of the driver while the power cord is pulled out of its socket.
Description of SCP-XXXX-1: SCP-XXXX-1 first appears in a unknown executable file at first that opens up on its own during SCP-XXXX activation process, the appearance of the phenomena get more frequent the more SCP-XXXX is active. The window of the executable has a black background that only shows a upper body off an humanoid origami figure classified as SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-1 is made of red paper, the whole form of it looks crumbled up. The face of SCP-XXXX-1 has rips and tears on the paper to roughly form the shape of eyes and a mouth. SCP-XXXX-1 while in the executable file will exit itself if a person looks at it no longer than 2 seconds, the few glances seen of what it was doing beforehand is either just staying still or moving its head erratically. If a person that is in the room and is facing away from the screen SCP-XXXX-1 will try to grab attention the person by either hissing or breathing audibly.
SCP-XXXX-1 is also know to manifest itself outside the affected computer, along with the fact that when there is no one in the room to see SCP-XXXX-1 manifest itself, this includes monitoring equipment, however, if the room is always monitored, SCP-XXXX-1 will manifest in a different room with no people or observation equipment in it. When manifested it is in a size of a normal human, but still made of paper, it is still unknown how SCP-XXXX-1 is able to be mobile in this kind of form. SCP-XXXX-1 will begin stalking and harassing people that are inside the building or area that SCP-XXXX is active in, usually targeting younger victims first, of age ranging from █-14. The range of SCP-XXXX-1 is inconclusive. SCP-XXXX-1 can appear hostile to victims it chooses to stalk and such situations may lead the effected subject overly paranoid, which seems SCP-XXXX-1 takes advantage of to scare the victim away from the effected zone or even kill the subject, in a way that does not revolve any physical contact with the victim. SCP-XXXX-1 is known to manifest less or none if the area or building has many people in it and it will try to appear when many people have left the effected zone. SCP-XXXX-1 is capable of manipulating objects, opening doors or locking them, grabbing objects and either destroying them or misplacing them, along writing on available objects if possible.
Recovery log: SCP-XXXX was first found near ███████, Canada inside a rural home when police had gone to investigate due of neighbor reports of the house inhabitants missing. Site agent undercover as a police officer who lead the investigation have found the house interior completely ransacked, objects were splayed over the floor with some showing damage indicating that they were thrown. Furniture show signs of damage, some cupboard doors broken off the hinges and a table missing a leg, among others. The walls were caked with random bits spoiled food, and words "Where are you?", "I know you are here" and "Starve" were crudely written with ketchup.
After a thorough search, a door leading to a basement was first found that was scratched up with a padlock locking it, they key for it was dropped nearby. Inside the basement the missing inhabitants (an adult male with a child of the same gender) were found in the corner malnourished and expired from dehydration. SCP-XXXX was found in the second floor upstairs in the bedroom in the active state. The agent reported the anomalous displays of the effected computer SCP-XXXX was in and then was transferred for containment. Amnesiacs were issued on site who have seen SCP-XXXX and a report of a house brake in with two homicides were used as a coverup.
Addendum-XXXX-1: Files contained in SCP-XXXX are named "Arisen.mp4", "Downfall.mp4", "Me.jpg".
Me.jpg - contains a black background with nothing of note, rising the brightness did not show anything hidden in it
Arisen.mp4 - 4:37 minutes long, the start of the video shows a sight of a animation of stairway with no walls or supports, the outside just shows a light orange background with the objects such as the stairs being deep orange. The view then moves to the left showing a family of three (father, mother, son) sitting on a couch and showing no emotion. There is a evident background sound during this. The father of the group begins to speak, saying: "Son, how about we do some simple arts and crafts?" with a tone showing no signs of emotion. The three of them begin to stand up, with the father getting a red papers out of his pocket about the size of his hand. They begin to make a origami that looks like a humanoid figure, this action takes about 1 and half minutes. When finished the family puts the origami on the floor as they look down upon it proudly saying nothing of note. The view than faces down, looking at the humanoid origami as it begins to zoom in on it. As it zooms in closer the ambient sounds of the video get louder until the video abruptly ends.
Downfall.mp4 - 2:47 minutes long and starts where the last video ended. The origami humanoid figure crumples up and forms crude holes to resemble eyes and mouth, looking like a smaller version of SCP-XXXX-1. The view pans to the family, which looks disturbed by it, and they show signs of panic. The family then begins to run away and splits up, running out of the view, only leaving the origami humanoid on the floor. thirty seconds of silence until the origami stands up on its own, the view blurs and brightens till white as people screaming can be heard, this keeps going until the video ends.
