Item #: SCP-3407 The Harlequin

Object class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3407 is to be contained in a secure holding cell at Site-19 the cell is to be decorated with at least one layer of triangular bunting party banners on the walls around the cell. Additional decorations may be added only with the approval of personnel with level two or higher clearance. Only cloth and paper like decorations are permitted to be used in SCP-3407's cell and absolutely no decorations that are solid enough to potentially be used as tools or weapons are permitted. It is not mandatory but preferred if the adding or removal of decorations be done whilst SCP-3407 is absent from its cell.

Approval by level two or higher personnel is also required for any time SCP-3407 is to be removed from its cell. Before removing SCP-3407 from its cell it must be separated from SCP-3407-A temporarily for the duration of relocation (Note: SCP-3407 will become hostile when it knows it is being sedated, sedation is to be carried out by armed personnel.) When sedated SCP-3407 is to be strapped down to caged dolly modified to fit SCP-3407, complete with a reinforced steal back-bored. One person is to pushing with two armed security personnel following. At no point should the person pushing the dolly when containing SCP-3407 be carrying a fire arm or any other form of weapon. Before being released into a cell SCP-3407-A is to placed into the cell first carried by Level 1 or above personnel with a pair of sanitation gloves.

SCP-3407's cell should be monitored at all times with all behaviour displayed by SCP-3407 being noted in a brief descriptive manner noted with the time of which the behaviour took place in the day. Any behaviour anomalous to SCP-3407's corresponding moods are to be noted down and reported to Dr Yisalko.

Description: SCP-3407 Is a humanoid entity in the sense that it resembles the basic shape of the human body. SCP-3407 stands 2.14 meters tall and is quite lanky in proportion to its height so much so that it should not be possible for SCP-3407 to carry out the process in which it causes fatalities. SCP-3407 does not need to Eat, drink or sleep to survive however it's chest seems to contort outward and inward as if it is breathing. SCP-3407 was discovered sitting under an aqueduct in Rome on the █████/07. After being detained all individuals in a 40 kilometre radius and the half of the population living in the side of the city nearest the aqueduct were given Class-B amnestics.

The entire surface of SCP-3407's body is covered by the garments of a 16th century renaissance Harlequin. All pieces of the outfit match save the shoes, gloves and mask have a Light blue and Burgundy red Chequered pattern with a thin white brim separating each individual Diamond shape of the pattern. SCP-3407's Mask is white with slight red tint. SCP-3407's mask changes expression with SCP-3407's mood showing 4 different emotions in total. (See Addendum A-1) SCP-3407's mask changes much like how a human face can change emotion with hints of muscle outlining being seen under the mask. Once SCP-3407's mask has changed emotion it then locks becoming solid. It is believed that SCP-3407 either controls the expression of the mask or that the mask is SCP-3407's actual face. SCP-3407's outfit has been scanned to reveal the same chemical composition as a regular Harlequin outfit. However testing has shown that SCP-3407's outfit is indestructible to any of our means of removing or damaging it even though it shoes signs of ware and age.

SCP-3407 has strong affiliation with SCP-3407-A a dark green leather satchel and strap that SCP-3407 pulls an assortment of objects from 16th century renaissance carnival culture out of. However when anyone else looks inside SCP-3407-A the satchel seems empty. SCP-3407 hangs over its shoulder at all times and becomes very agitated when separated from SCP-3407-A.

SCP-3407 spends most of its time sitting down on the floor with its legs crossed near to the centre of the back wall in its cell. When approached SCP-3407 will hold out its hand gesturing for something to be given to it. If a coin of any currency or value is given it will put the coin into SCP-3407-A and and pull out 3 matching wooden cups and 3 white marbles with 3 distinctive symbols, one for each Marble. SCP-3407 will then put one marble under each cup and begin to quickly move the cups around swapping their positions randomly with one another, much like a common street gambling game still practised today. When SCP-3407 is finished it then gestures for the the recipient to pick one of the cups. When a cup is chosen SCP-3407 will look at which marble that was chosen and carry out the actions in which it associates with each Marble.

Marble A: A marble with a light blue painted star. When this Marble is revealed SCP-3407's mask retains its usual expression, smiling. SCP-3407 then excitedly reaches into SCP-3407-A and pulls out an object to be given as a prize to the recipient. These objects hold no anomalous properties but are always something related to 16th century Italian carnival culture. Such objects include a Harlequin eye mask on a stick, A colourful pinwheel, A lit sparkler and a cone hat of varying coolers with a tassel on the top also of varying colour.

Marble B: A Marble with a red painted spider. When this Marble is revealed SCP-3407's mask changes to show immense anger, SCP-3407 immediately becomes enraged and pounces from his seated position to land on top of the recipients chest forcing them to the ground. SCP-3407 will then grip its victims head placing its thumbs into the eyes and squeezing whilst slamming the victims head until death (Note: This method is SCP-3407's preferred method of killing). This has shown to be extremely painful after which SCP-3407 will go back to its seated position but will retain its angry face for approximately 20 minuets until returning to its normal state. Any attempts to approach SCP-3407 in this state will result in (DATA EXPUNGED).

Marble C: A Marble with a painted black "X". When this Marble is revealed SCP-3407's mask changes to show a mischievous emotion. SCP-3407 will then pull out a Han-kerchief from SCP-3407-A holding it with its thumb and index finger from the middle and placing it on the ground hovering slightly with the middle point. SCP-3407 will then remove the Han-kerchief to reveal a traumatising site tailord for who SCP-3407 shows this to, it is usually the rotting heads of dead relatives and other individuals that the subject had a strong bond with. SCP-3407 will leave it lying there staring at the recipient for approximately 5 minuets if nothing occurs as usually the recipient will either run away in a state of immense grief or will become psychotic and attacks SCP-3407. When struck SCP-3407 will dance around its opponent waiting for the moment where it can spring onto the persons chest and kill them in much the same manner as if the recipient chose Marble A.

Addendum:

Addendum A-1: SCP-3407's Facial emotions include the following.

Smiling: SCP-3407's mask shows a smiling face. When this face is shown SCP-3407 is calm and not hostile. (Note: This does NOT mean that SCP-3407 is incapable of causing harm)

Frowning: SCP-3407's mask shows a frowning face. This face is only shown when someone does not accept the prize given out by SCP-3407 when Marble A is revealed in which SCP-3407 will remain in that state for approximately 3 minuets before returning its normal state. Or when SCP-3407 is separated from SCP-3407-A.

Angry: SCP-3407's mask shows immense anger. Aside from being the face it makes when Marble B is chosen and when being sedated, it means that SCP-3407 is potentially hostile and will most likely kill anyone who approaches it. SCP-3407 also makes this face when it is not satisfied with the decor of its cell and will not go to sit in its usual position, this is also the only circumstance in which SCP-3407 adorns this face and is not guaranteed to be hostile.

Mischievous: SCP-3407's mask shows a Mischievous face. This face is only shown when a recipient picks Marble C.

Addendum A-2: SCP-3407 mainly adorns its cross legged sitting position waiting for recipients to interact with it however sometimes SCP-3407 can be seen doing other activities such as mime routines and playing with various objects that it obtains from SCP-3407-A. When someone is approaching SCP-3407's cell at this time it some how senses them coming and goes back to its regular position.

Closing statement: As of yet with the discovery of SCP-3407's no attempts have been made to neutralise it.
